Theism: Belief that one or more gods exists.
Atheism: Lack of belief in any gods.
Agnosticism: Belief that if any gods exist, no direct knowledge can be known about them. (It has nothing to do with whether they belief or not)
Polytheism: Belief in many gods.
Monotheism: Belief in one god.
Animism: Belief that gods inhabit animals and objects.

(Note that none of the above refer to any specific gods. They are generic terms for categories of religious belief.)

Sikihism, Judaism, and Islam are monotheistic. Christianity is monotheistic or polytheistic, depending on how you interpret the "trinity"
There are many varieties of Buddhism that span many of those categories. Some forms of Buddhism are atheistic, in that they don't believe in any god. Others can be considered pantheistic, polytheistic, or Animism.

(Pantheism, btw, is belief that everything is a part of a god.)

I think Jews could be classified as agnostics since we don't really know anything about God (our God was never human). We generally think about the attributes of God. He is a loving God, a God of justice, a jealous God, merciful, patient, angry, etc. etc. We are made in His likeness, therefore we also have many of the same attributes.

We thank God for what He has done for us, while at the same time reminding ourselves that we are to do those same things since we are made in His image!

Buddhism eschews the idea of a creator god as one is generally defined and there is no "soul". It is the mind that goes on taking rebirth according to one's karma in any given birth or collective births.
