Simply said, if we chose to ignore the workings of karma, we tend to create many problems for ourselves. For example, if we like to have something expensive, but we cannot afford it, it becomes very tempting to steal. If we are smart and attentive enough, we may never be caught stealing. However, by stealing, we create problematic situations for ourselves in the future, like poverty, or being the victim of robbers. Therefore, if we chose to ignore karma, the results of our actions will still haunt us.

Every mainstream religion teaches us about the consequences of our actions. The explanations may differ, but does it really matter in the end whether the law of karma causes us trouble or God himself in his final judgement?

What do you think?

Following that encyclical he also issued other encyclicals? Ennumerate the encyclicals that Pope John Paul II issued to the whole world during his pontificate? What is the difference between encyclical letter and apostolic exhortation? Pope John Paul II also issued an apostolic exhortation on the role of the Christian Family in the Modern World. What is the name of that apostolic exhortation which Pope John Paul II issued and when was it issued? What is the stand of the Church on the issue on Euthanasia or Mercy Killing? And what is the stand too of moden man on the same issue? Pope John Paul II also issued another apostolic exhortation on the mission of the Lay Faithful in the Church and in the world, what is the name of that apostolic exhortation? World hunger is one of the problems that you and me are facing today, what could be the causes of "world hunger" when in reality there are many affluent countries all over the world who are ready to help?

To those of you who believe in christians being modest:

It may be a little strange since it's winter, lol, but I am really excited about summer and the beach already! So I went to picking out the perfect bathing suit online with, of course, keeping the modesty in mind. I found a cute rashguard or bathing suit material, type of a t-shirt. It's just like a normal t-shirt, no belly showing or lowcut top. The bottoms are usual bottoms that would go with some sort of two piece, but I replaced the usual bikini top that would go with it for the rashguard. The thing that I am concerned about are the bottoms. I used to babysit for a christian family who had a pool, and once when I went over, the mother was in a usual one piece. It was just plain, no purposefully revealing areas, and...well, you know just a one piece! I thought about the bottoms I was looking to buy....and then her one piece, and in the rear, of course, it would have been the same. What do you guys think???

Pat Robertson: "God told me our country will be heavily attacked this year, I hope people will pray to prevent it from happening."

I honestly can't see the logic in that. God already know, obviously. He needs people to tell him something is bad, to prevent it from happening? God works on majority votes? How does this work?Anybody who can enlighten me how this works?

Stars form the same way, everywhere. There is always left over material in the star formation that makes the rocky planets, like earth. Astronomers estimate that about 5% of the stars in our galaxy, are Earthlike planets, which is about 10 BILLION planets!

Why do we call it THE earth, when there are more than likely billions of other earths. Is that another arrogance brought to you by religion?

Mark 8:31-33: And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again. And he said this plainly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man."

The entrance to every Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall I've ever seen has a covered area in front of the door. I'm guessing there must be a reason for this, but I have never been able to find out what.
