THe gentleman above me had it closest.
Judaism differs fromChristianity on many many points. We believe Moses recieved an oral tradition along with the written one, and this influences our religious practices. Judaism believes in one G_d who is absolutely one with no parts, Christianity believes ina trinity. Christians believe Jesus was the Messiah, we believe the Messiah will be an elderly man and has not yet arrived. There are many other differences.
Judaism is practiced by a great many ethnic groups. From Europe you have the Yekis, the Galitzianers, the Litvaks, the Ungarin, Poliners, Yaphnim, and many many others. The Sephardim from North Africa and the middle East have even more ethnic groups within them.
SOme of these groups are black, some have dark hair and dark eyes, many Yekis and Ungarin are blond or red headed.
People lump all these peoples under the name "Jew." A lot of the reason people think of "Jews" as an ethnic group instead of as a religion made up of many ethnic groups, is because when Jews started to give up their religion, they still wanted a way to feel Jewish. They started thinking of themselves along an ethnic paradigm, instead of the more apparent religious one.
Hope that helps.

Judaism is the root or basis for Christianity. We both read and study the same Old Testament scriptures. Judaism is the Christian's foundation for faith, after all, Jesus was a Jew born and by faith.
Most of all, Christians believe Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament scripture, the promised Messiah. Jews do not, they are still waiting for the Messiah to come.

Xtianity differs from Judaism in belief, tradition, the very concept of dogma.
Xtianity believes in the divinity of J*sus, Jews vehemently do not and believe it is blasphemy.
Xtianity focuses on the afterlife, Judaism focuses on THIS life. (I.E. good works over beliefs)
Xtianity does not keep the laws of the Torah (because evidently J*sus came and destroyed them...even though J*sus himself said that 'no letter of the law shall be changed') Judaism still keeps those traditions and laws
Xtianity actively seeks converts, Judaism does not.
Just a few examples, I could name many more.
Finally, Judaism is practiced by any ethnic group that wants to practice it. You can convert to Judaism no matter what religion you used to be or what color your skin is: but Judaism believes you don't NEED to become a Jew to earn a place in Paradise. "Righteous Gentiles" have an equal share in the World to Come.

Christianity differs from Judaism because Judaism is not based on the Old Testament as most think but is based on the Talmud which is commentary on the Bible. So many practices, such as eating kosher, working on the sabbath, wearing a Yamaka (having your head covered) are not Biblical issues.
Judaism is Jewish.

Your second question is a trick question. There are Jews who are black, white, yellow, and brown. For some reason they are lumped into one "ethnic group" but unless you knew everyone calling themselves "Jew" was supposed to be part of this mega-ethnic group, you'd assum it was made up of lots of ethnic groups.
Also, somehow converts to Judaism get lumped in this ethnic group even if they are Korean.

The 2 religions have the same roots, the only difference is the belief in Jesus. So christians believe that christianityt is the up to date version. I find it interesting that the relationship between islam and christianity the same. Moslems believe that christ was a prophet but he was succeeded by Mohammed. So islam has the same roots too but it succeeds christianity.

Jewdaism is practiced by Jews alone.
The most glaring difference I see is that jews recognize God the father and do NOT recognize Jesus. Imagine being Christian without jesus??? a huge difference and that explains that.
