Music to me is the closest thing i can think of, when it comes to transcendence and being closer to something spiritual. I can experience the gambit of emotions through music, love, hate, sadness and others. There is something so powerful about music. Sometimes i find a song, i just love, and wish my essence could dissolve and become part of the song. Does anyone feel the same way ?

Its simple that most of them operate like pyramid sales corporations.
Only difference is that they don't pay most of their workers and they don't pay tax.
Everytime someone joins a new religious organisation 'cha ching,' and some of these organisations are doing really well on the stock markets. Like the Mormon Church owns most of the shares in Bell Hugy Air Corporation who make nuclear missiles, bombs and general armaments, they also control the board of directors. In the first Golf War against Iraq they made massive profits, infact if anyone won that war it was the shareholders of the Mormon Church. Why do religious people think its so important that their particular organisation do so well on the stock exchange, property markets, oh and I almost forgot, control state machines and governments? Is this cash fed empire building more than having anything to do with spirituality. (unless dripping dombs on people with spiritually counts)
Thanx for the violation notices, again.

instead of through Jesus. I wouldn't like any obstacles or obstructions in my worship of the one, true God. And don't say Jesus is God b/c there is 3 parts to God in Christianity...I don't like the 3 in one. God has certain traits but I think the Holy Spirit, God and Jesus are 3 seperate entities, unified in their message and only God is divine..does that make sense...?

Are we to pray to dead saints?

Exd 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. This also being confirmed in Deu 5:6

Jhn 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

That is a Jesus speaking and declaring in fact all of God people are gods with a little g. Meaning subjects of God.

So in praying to anyone other then the Father God are you sinning against Gods law?

Jesus when ask to teach us how to pray he said our Father in heaven.

Also is confirmed in PSa 82:6 I have said, Ye [are] gods; and all of you [are] children of the most High.

Some people recite a particular prayer.
Some people use meditation.
I'm sure there are many other effective ways.

We had (on Noche Buena, or the night of Christmas Eve, we really do not celebrate Christmas day) tamales, champurado, buñuelos, ponche caliente and a ham.
Yes, I am Mexican, but we like the American style ham so we had that too.
What did you have, what did you celebrate, what is your heritage? I would really like to know. Thanks

You can see it here even in these message boards, people feel so strongly and are so angry against opposing views. I really can't understand that.

Didn't Jesus say that we are to help the poor and not persecute them? Why do I see this happening among some Christians? This is not directed at "All" Christians as I know there are people out there that would give you the shirt off their back! And also: Why is racism still a problem in some churches? One of my best friends is black and a Christian! Hes probably the greatest person I have ever met!

Please help me to understand. How can god hear millions of people's prayers and answer them all at the same time. Does anyone realize how crazy that sounds. I know someone will be like...oh god can do anything, but I wish those people would actually think about what they are saying. It's just like Santa Claus. When you were little you probably believed he could visit every single house in one night and know what every kid in the world wanted and put it in his little bag. Of course it made life seem a little more fun and magical, but if you would just use a little common sense you would realize it was ridiculous. People shouldn't believe in something just because it's comforting. Use your mind. PLEASE.

I had a pastor who only focused on materialistic things such as buying a big house and he even said at the pulpit that he wants to have a million dollars so he can buy two jet planes instead of saying," I want to save a million souls for Christ.

my property is OFFICIALLY ATHEIST and i dont allow any religious items so that means no crosses no yamakahs no hijabs and if you have a cross tattoo or any other religious tattoo on you, that means you cant enter my property at all since obviously it cant be removed and its a religious item. I've had to remove several people off my property because they came in wearing one of those things that i just mentioned couldnt come on my property I've also had one person try and pray in my house and i told them i'm gonna count to 3 and your outta here one two THREE and they didnt stop praying so i had to escort off the grounds why do people think they can come on my property with that garbage

i have been christian for a while and i just recently watched a documentary on national geographic. they actualy found a chromosome or something like that that linked all the way to the very first complex thinking man/neanderthal. and eventualy evolved. since then i have done some thourough research on evolution and i have to say it just makes alot of sense. and its kinda freaking me out. its questioning what i beleive in but it makes more sense and there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that just about proves the theory about 99.9 percent. i also read up on the bible and its content and i realized that theres no way it could have been a direct word from god because its recorded somewhere that HUNDREDS of people wrote parts in it. it also explained how their is strong evidence that the bible and jesus's teaching have been greatly altered to control the masses.

i dont know what do beleive in. its just that there is so much evidence of corruptness and so much logical science to.

I ask this here because I know that many people, atheists especially, defend evolution very often in this category. I'm wondering what your think of this "Dissent from Darwinism":

I'm always surprised when Christians know the exact number of times they pray each day, or can't remember the last time they prayed. Some will say they pray every morning and right before bed. Or they pray before eating, or at church.

I can't speak for others, but if I can count the number of times I'm praying, or if I'm praying on a schedule, I'm not praying enough. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says we should pray constantly. Prayer gives us peace, increases our power through Christ, and draws us closer to God. It also keeps our thoughts focused and pure. The devil never rests, so there is always time for prayer. Question: Can you immediately tell the difference when you miss an hour, a day, or a week of praying? How did it make you feel?

Ok, as I walking, Jehovah's Witnesses are always passing out pamphlet. I said no, thank you politley. When I'm at home, some christians come by to recruit me into their religion. I said, no thanks, I'm Taoist. Apparently, they DID NOT want to hear that and TRIED TO TAKE ME AWAY FROM MY RELIGION! They were like "forget taoism, god is the path of all life. Your religion is heathen!". I mean what the hell is that?! One of my Muslim friends told me that the same thing happened to him. If I'm happy in a religion, why would THOSE christians attempt to imperialize me with their religion? I'm a taoist and that's plain and simple. WHY CAN'T THE RECRUITERS TAKE NO FOR A ANSWER?

Ok, I've stayed out of this section for months now...figure I would just pop in to say hello to all of you.

Here is my real question: why do religious folks "down-thumb" everyone that doesn't agree with their point of view, or "belief"?

Just for fun, I clicked on a "religious" question (it was simply: are you religious?), and after I saw that somebody had down-thumbed all the non-believers, I went through and did the same with the believers.

You know what? I was expecting some sort of evil satisfaction. Well, there wasn't any satisfaction. It just wasn't enjoyable.

So if you down-thumb people that don't agree with you on a regular basis, do you feel some small sense of self-worth? Just curious. If so, I think you really need some counseling, or anger management classes!

And if you can't understand sarcasm, that whole thing on counseling was sarcasm!
