Inspiration is customarily applied to fiction, such as a great novel being said to have been ‘inspired’ by an event or impression experienced by the author, or his admiration for a certain personality or achievement. How is the biblical use of the term ‘inspired’ different from that applied to works of fiction, and please explain why truth claims would require this ‘inspiration’. Please offer a means of testing your explanation

Christians are by no means better than anyone else. Compared to others on a scale,EQUAL. The bible teaches christians to be in the world but be not part of it. Different category than those of the world. The world hates God. I don't claim to be a christian because I am still disobedient to God's word. I am a follower of Christ seeking christianity. It is a process. I still have sin in my life and I have to repent on a daily basis. When I have control over my flesh and no longer give in to sin, by resisting temptation(Satan) then I will consider myself as a true christian just as Jesus was and as the people were in his days on Earth. Other believers will probably disagree with me and that's o.k. I stand firm on my belief and if I'm wrong the Holy Spirit will surely let me know as he is the Spirit of Truth

It seems that certain fanatics are trying to stop the dedate. I ask all those reguardless of their particular spiritual beliefs, what can we do as lovers of freedom and freE speach to make this site A fair and democratic forum for debate again? Do we really want a world where the only disgusion of religion amounts to who side is God on Christians or Muslims or how many do you think are going to heaven today and how many to Hell, or how where you prayers today, or please give me a scripture to help me be a better person.
Is that all God wants to be disgusted? Would not God want open disgussion? How can we open up the debate without being closed down by those how have decided that they are the SELF APPOINTED censors for God.
Do we had democracy here or is this facism? Answer quickly please before this is added to my violation notices.

If the Bible is the source of a comprehensible and absolute doctrine, reliable in all instances and application, why are there more than 500 major denominations within Christianity, many of which differ radically from one another? Which particular interpretation is correct? How is one particular interpretation rationally verified over another? Who is to be the final arbiter of which interpretation is correct? If one says God is the final arbiter, then he misses the point, since God has allegedly already had his say in the Bible. It is the interpretation of the Bible – ‘God’s Word’ – that is in question here. Is it the individual? Is it the church clergy? Is it reality? What is the final court of appeal when theological interpretations disagree? Please explain in detail and offer a method of testing your answer for soundness.

In Matthew 24:29 and Mark 13:25, Jesus is reported to have said that "the stars shall fall from heaven" immediately after the tribulation. Does this seem possible to you? If so, where will the stars fall to? The context of these passages sound like Jesus meant that the stars would fall to the earth. Does such a statement come from an omniscient divinity who knows what stars are and how enormous they are (some millions of times the size of the earth)? Please explain.

Jesus was a man and therefore had the urges of a man. Did he not have sexual urges? If he did then wouldn't they then be an expression of his love? And if his sexual urges were an expression of love then didn't he love men and women equally? What is so offensive about thinking that Jesus had sexual urges?

Hi,

I asked a friend of myne who is a Muslim, regarding recieving benefit:

He replied:If u are in a situation(i.e not employed, sick etc), were benefit is given to you, afterwards when u start to work it is a good thing to give the money back that was given by the government.

I told him why, he replied:
In the last revelation.. ''Qur' an'' and the Hadith(i.e saying of the prophet) of the prophet Muhammad it states , everyone will be questioned how they spent their wealth and how they earned thier wealth on the day of judgement (hereafter) by God. And another reason is government can provide for others who are inneed.

ME: I actually agree with paying back the benefit i recieved.

Do you agree?

I've had most of my questions removed with violation notices. Even the most simple stuff that you could discuss at primary school level has been rejected. Is there any point saying anything anymore?

I don't mean close to death accidents. I mean people who have died for a few minutes, but were brought back to live to tell they saw something like a light, their long perished loved ones, or anything else of that nature?

I think this kind of thing is interesting to learn! I do believe in God, but I often wonder and I have many questions just like everyone else...Thank you!

Even though I love the Lord...and I know He loves me...I still have a problem feeling as though I have a place amongst the believers?...I just don't feel I have a real purpose...even though I know we are to reach out to the hurting...and I do...I still suffer from unhappiness...This probably is not a good thing for a Christian to confess...I was just wondering if there are others that suffer too...Thank you...but unless you are a Christian...you can't really understand what I am asking...so please Christians only.

The statement that there is no God is just crazy! Have you ever considered the way our bodies work? Who on this earth could have done that? No one! That's because God did it. He also created everything else.

I believe in god, but I dont think I need to go to church to prove this. I am not a fan of church at all, I think that it is good for some people. I also find myself thinking sometimes that there might not be a heaven or hell. That when you die your life if just over, its scary to think that but sometimes I do. I try to live the best life I can, I help people who need it, even the people who stand on the corners holding signs. I love my family and friends and would do anything for any of them. So I guess my question is am I a bad person and is it normal to wonder about the things I wonder about?
