I was just looking at the two and realized that Groundhog Day, at least now, is used to "determine the start of spring" and Imbolgc is a celebration of the beginning of Spring (close to the exact inbetween of Winter Solctice and Spring Equinox, where spring should start, not on the spring equinox you bloody Christians! jk, no offense...) And Since they are on or around the same day, are they connected? Perhaps back when certain religions and cultures (mainly Christianity) were taking some other religions' and cultures' traditions and using them to make theirs seem more appealing to others.

2 Kings 2:23-24
23And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

if someone called u a name such as baldhead, would u curse them and ask for 2 she-bears to come out and maul whoever calls u this?

(how does one justify this? - in corinthians, it says if a man has long hair it is a shame to him. why would being bald considered bad?)

..and the waiter came by and told her to go into the bathroom! WTF? I know this is none of my business, me being a man and all, but I think it's messed up that a lady has to go to a filthy public restroom to feed her hungry child! I mean she wasn't entirely exposed. She kind of had a blanket draped around her, but it was very clear what she was doing. I didn't see a problem with it though. I mean, her kid's hungry. What's the big deal about public breastfeeding?

to me knowing that God didnt lie in promising us the Messiah-

Isaiah said 700bce "Unto us a child is born, a Son is given, and he will be the wonderfull counselor, the almighty God, and the prince of peace."

now Messiah Jesus words from heaven made sence-"I love each of you, and knock on your heart door to come in, and deliver from sin to be your friend."

so I prayed and let him in-and it worked for me-and now I live in His Joy and inner peace!

dont as a muslim say you believe in Jesus but dont believe he is God-Isaiah didnt lie-and even the Jewish people who mostly reject the Messiah-cant take it out of the Jewish scriptures.

dont as Jewish tell me I'm not a Jew-Im born a jew and I have the Messiah too-that makes me a true Jew-Christian means a follower of the Messiah-Jew or Gentile-from the Greek Christos meaning the anointed one

your still phyiscally a Jew with out the Messiah but spiritually your a heathen-

what in the Messiah brings you the most peace and joy

I am Assembly of God and we do not believe in the Calvinistic interpretation of Predestination and Eternal Security.
But wish to know your thoughts, but before you respond, please look at these following links to understand what we believe and why and the context of what we believe.
And also, please bare in mind, I have studied the works of Charles Stanley and John McArthur and know their positions on the subject, so please do not quote from them as I have been there and have the T-shirt (Just a little humor)
My Pastor Was Southern Baptist and was Dean of Students at Criswell College in Dallas, until he became spirit filled, he now reads and writes and teaches New testament Greek at Christ for the Nations in Dallas and is Assembly of God.

Exodus 12:29

I work in a large corporate building home to several thousand employees.

One of the bathrooms on my floor constantly stinks of urine and/or other scatological compounds. It's a matter of the water pressure - it's too high, so when people flush, it sprays contaminated bowl water all over the floor.

Another interesting fact about this bathroom is that the last stall on the right is the biggest and most consistent disseminator of Christian propaganda in the (quite large) building. Fully 90% of the time I have used that stall - over the course of nearly 2 years; we're talking dozens of gastrointestinal sojourns - there is a Christian-themed pamphlet, news story, or Kent Hovind DVD.

Is this horrific, muck-floored, stench-filled bathroom a secret meeting place of underground Christian propagandists? Or does it happen to be the place closest to an outspoken proponent of Jesus?

From a state of utter, threadbare confusion, I ask you: what's the correlation?

Purpose and design:God made everything becuase He had a specific purpose and design is based on that purpose

Ex:The Penus(sperm) and Vigina(egg)

Or

Big Bang:It just happen, and there is no specific purpose or design;everything is just randomness

We need something to set stuff on,so we make tables;we want to si down, but not on the ground so we make chairs. We need better ground to travel on so we pave the ground

Again purpose and design?Or Big Bang and randomness?Exlplain you answer please?

Ephisians 3:9-And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

James :12-But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

And yet you persist in trying to post lies as truth on this forum. Case in point the person who said that Einstein stated that there must be a god. He never did any such thing of course.
On the other hand, let's read a quote he DID make on the subject;

"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms.
-- Albert Einstein, obituary in New York Times, 19 April 1955, quoted from James A Haught, "Breaking the Last Taboo" (1996)

Well said Albert. Well said.

I could mention the Lady Hope lie about Darwin recanting on his death bed but that's for another time...

Now the christians who will give this question a thumbs down, ask yourself WHY you would do this. Does the truth frighten you so much?

After reading the responses to another question I asked, I'm even more confused. The spirit is like an electrical charge to jump start our bodies. The soul is us. If the spirit has no memory of us then all spirits are one & the same, so then does that mean when we die our soul dies & only our spirit can go to God?
