It seems that certain fanatics are trying to stop the dedate. I ask all those reguardless of their particular spiritual beliefs, what can we do as lovers of freedom and freE speach to make this site A fair and democratic forum for debate again? Do we really want a world where the only disgusion of religion amounts to who side is God on Christians or Muslims or how many do you think are going to heaven today and how many to Hell, or how where you prayers today, or please give me a scripture to help me be a better person.
Is that all God wants to be disgusted? Would not God want open disgussion? How can we open up the debate without being closed down by those how have decided that they are the SELF APPOINTED censors for God.
Do we had democracy here or is this facism? Answer quickly please before this is added to my violation notices.

So far I haven't seen any particular slow down of "free" activity.
Even those people whose ideas you don't like have the right to freely express their opinions.
If you are talking about Yahoo censoring the questions, then you're just out of luck. As this is a private site, Yahoo has the right to take off any and every post they want to for any or no reason at all. There are limits to free speech when it comes to private enterprise.

I agree that this should be more of a debate but you have a lot of people who will just put each other down for asking questions or answer them with stupid things that are hurtful or arn't helpful or whatever. People would probably less open to new ideas and less accepting of each other and each other's opinions if the whole conversation was one sided.

You can't deal with some people, once they have made their minds up, so don't try. Just ignore them and do the best you can to make things work as a democracy and go on. There are still going to be that elite group that are going to say derogatory things and try to spoil it for everyone else and that is a fact, so just keep on plugging and do the best that you can.

I agree with you, but as the first poster said, Yahoo! Answers is not a democracy. And sadly there are always going to be people on here who report things because they don't agree with your religious choices, not necessarily what you were saying. I've had several very benign responses reported and removed for ridiculous reasons because people apparently didn't like that I sign my responses with "Blessed be" and the symbol of the Goddess.

The problem isn't generally with discussion, but is the manner in which the questions are asked. If they are asked in an inquisitive, RESPECTFUL manner, they generally won't get pulled. I lost 30 points yesterday trying to post a question for good discussion and it got pulled twiced just for how I had worded it.

You are right. We should discuss a variety of important things in a democratic and tolerant manner. And the topics that should be discussed here should go beyond "whose side is God on", or "is God pleased with the way you are dressed".
