In my opinion NO IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR BELIEFS LOOK ANY COOLER!

I have re-evaluated all my inquiries. Though my questions come out of curiosity for other people's religions, I must admit that I might come accross as biased toward Christians (I used to be a Christian), thus some people might think I am attacking Christianity (see the last 5 questions I posted). In the spirit of Tolerance, I intend not to POST any questions that could insult others. Hope everyone trys to do the same!

respectfully,
Muslimah!

I have heard this one alot,"Every christian is called to preach/win souls".
Do you agree with this?
I do not,as I feel that The Higher Being(Or God,what ever title you would like to give)has called me to pray for others instead of preach(which is fine for some, but not for me)
What is your view on this?

at the context or hidden meaning? One fine example: Love your enemy( no if no but, plain and simple, applies in every situation).

Or was truth really plain and simple, only people make it difficult to understand?

Everyone on both sides are quoting from your holy book. I will get a copy and read it myself and be back. Are there different versions? If so what is the correct one?

Most Islamic scholars (if not all) contend that Islamic law is the natural intended way, which is why Muslims all over the world, demand their laws be applied, no matter what the existing law of the land may be.

Quran 4:34 "(as to those muslimah’s) on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them;" http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/004.qmt.html

Do you think the right of a physically stronger man to beat a physically weaker woman is a part of natural law? Is it ethnocentric and insensitive to critisize this part of Islam?

NOTE TO NON-MUSLIMS: My personal experience is, that despite the fact that 99.999% of the Muslim world accepts this "beating" doctrine, some Muslims will try to lie about its very existance even when I directly cite it and link to the most popular website in the Islamic community.

Re-baptism cannot possibly be valid, for a number of reasons, all scriptural. I'd appreciate some responses from Calvinists on this one.

Do different Christian religions have different bibles or is there only one bible? In case they are different, how do you know you got the one from your religion? Does it say on the cover?

In spite of the singularity often shown, The Church has several doctrinally defensible stances on the infallibility of scripture:

1. The Bible is entirely the word of God, that every word is written as God inspired it to be, and that Jesus is the culmination of God's work in bringing human beings to him.

2. The Bible is the inspired word of God, and through it we learn how God has worked through thousands of years. Jesus is the culmination of God's work, and the Bible provides a reliable resource for learning what Jesus taught. However, some parts of the Bible reflect what humans thought more than what God thought.

3. The Bible describes how people have perceived God in their culture and may through metaphor help us learn about God. Jesus is God's ultimate communication with humans, and the 4 gospels teach a lot about Jesus, but he may be largely unknowable. The Bible, therefore, must be tempered by personal experience, reason, and tradition.

All are widespread in Christianity.

A special Mumbai court Monday pronounced Ejaz Pathan, a former aide of mob boss Dawood Ibrahim, guilty for his complicity in the 1993 Mumbai blasts that killed 257 people and injured hundreds.
The court also held Pathan’s close associate Mohammad Dawood Khan guilty in the same case.
Pathan, the one-time Dawood gang’s western Indian operation-in-charge and close confidante of the absconding blast accused created a ruckus in the Terrorism and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) court by making “critical” remarks against the prosecuting and defence lawyers.
The March 12, 1993 serial blasts also destroyed properties worth Rs.300 million.
After a long-drawn trial, which started in January 1994, the TADA court has been pronouncing verdicts since Sep 12. It has so far found 79 of the 123 accused on trial guilty.

Their Lord responds to them: 'I will not let the deeds of any doer among you go to waste, male or female - you are both the same in that respect... (Qur'an, 3:195)

Anyone who acts rightly, male or female, being a believer, We will give them a good life and We will recompense them according to the best of what they did. (Qur'an, 16:97)

Men and women who are Muslims, men and women who are believers, men and women who are obedient, men and women who are truthful, men and women who are steadfast, men and women who are humble, men and women who give alms, men and women who fast, men and women who guard their private parts, men and women who remember Allah much: Allah has prepared forgiveness for them and an immense reward. (Qur'an, 33:35)

Corrupt women are for corrupt men and corrupt men are for corrupt women, Good women are for good men and good men are for good women. The latter are innocent of what they say. They will have forgiveness and generous provision. (Qur'an, 24:26)
