I do not think we have an afterlife, or a prelife. Just this one.

the concept of an afterlife is in almost all religions, and is a very prized human belief, but I don't think it should take the focus completely away from how we live this one--which is what it seems to do to a lot of people

That depends on who you ask. I believe that some people's views of the afterlife are wrong, just as I disagree that everybody's is different. I could be wrong, but I think I'm right. I believe in eternal salvation or damnation and hope I will be one of the saved.

i feel we all go to the same place .... different levels of the same place depending on our life's work
it doesnt matter what you believe , what you read , what you are taught
i believe that this life is for spiritual lessons and it is those lessons that make a difference to where we will reside in spirit ... to be more exact , how we cope with those lessons

I don't know what's next...my guess nothing..but the idea of reincarnation appeals to me...that we have certain things (or lessons) we have to learn before we become one with the cosmos...therefore we live as many lives as it takes for us to learn those things...

you know what, this is jiust as possible as anything else. Perhaps what you really believe will happen at the time of death, will in fact happen...who knows. I believe in reincarnation though, so hey, to each their own.
