I have heard this one alot,"Every christian is called to preach/win souls".
Do you agree with this?
I do not,as I feel that The Higher Being(Or God,what ever title you would like to give)has called me to pray for others instead of preach(which is fine for some, but not for me)
What is your view on this?

Christians have different callings and there are those called to evangelize for sure. But for the vast majority of Christians, these verses sum up our evangelistic efforts: 1 Peter 3:15-16, "... But in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame."

In short ... Live so people will ask. Don't force feed them the question. Reflect the Light, Live the life. Live it plainly, but there is to be no guilt trip put on anyone for not accosting their neighbors and co-workers once a week!

"But as for me, I desire this privilege from the Lord, that never may I have any privilege from man, except to do reverence to all, and to convert the world by obedience to the Holy Rule rather by example than by word." ~St. Francis of Assisi

I believe this is true though "preaching" is not the only way to win souls. It could be talking to someone on the bus, praying for someone or just sharing a sandwich and a kind word.

As a Christian, it is called the Great Commission. Everyone is called to witness the works and love of Jesus to the world.
The note that should play a part in this is that preaching isn't the main issue of witnessing to the world.
My last workplace everyone knew I was a Christian, Them watching me and my actions was witnessing enough to them, without uttering a word. I had Christian music playing at my desk, whenever some "mockers" ask me a question of my faith, I would answer the best I could according to the Bible.
You'll be surprised what reactions I got, including my believing boss. He was a lukewarm Christian and I debated with him more than the secular world.

Not everyone is called to preach, but we are all ministers of Christ if so be that we choose to be. In that case, being a minister of Christ means that we tell others about what he has done in our life to cause others to want to know him. So, yes we are all ministers, but no, we are not all preachers. We should all want to win souls to Christ because that is what we are supposed to do. So, preaching and winning souls is not the same. We win souls by showing God's love and telling others. THat is something we are supposed to do.

Praying for others salvation does win souls. Some are called to preach, some are called to heal, some are called to prophesy, some are called to . . . .

Praying correctly really does a service to those you are praying for.

Keep praying and pray with others, this will only increase your faith.

God Bless

WE are called to try and win souls, but it doesn't have to come through preaching. We are all given different gifts by God and we should do what ever we are best at.

I can"t agree, someone told me.The person you pass may be
ready to kill Himself.I would talk to Him or Her & tell what Jesus
did for me or You. The talk will show you really care/call it preaching or whatever other label people put on it.

Be He Frind or Foe We are called to be a watchman.Jesus
called you to be an ambassador. You represent Him on this Earth.People are looking for someone that is real.

You are praying for others/which tells me you really care/

Hi, my view is that Jesus appointed the Apostles and whomever they appoint to spread the Good news of the Gospel,in other words the Priestly ministry, and now every Tom, Dick and Harry are at it, I think that those of us not ordained should spread the Gospel by our example in life and leave the preaching to those who are called to preach.

All Christians are called to preach but not be preachers like at church. It is out job to tell others about Jesus. That is what this means.

To preach means; to speak the truth, to win souls means; to liberate minds with the truth. To pray means; to ask. We each have our calling.
