It is not the real Christians who are doing this to you... It is the ones who are playing Church.... or better yet... those pretending to be what Hollywood and television has been teaching them they should be in order to promote all the various products that are going to be for sale this holiday season. The people who are watching the stock market due to consumer spending.. These are the people who you are tired of, just like the followers of Jesus ARE TOO. I would rather be of the sincere minority, than the hypocritical majority supporting the Americanized capitalistic imagry of a bunch of lies attached to my religious faith all in the name of making money and cultural fronting for traditionalists.

Jesus and Christmas are not connected biblically at all. You can thank the Roman Catholic Church for that initially. However, in our society it would be Wall Street and Hollywood.

However, since MANY millions of people believe in Jesus and we tend to celebrate the births of famous influently people in history. I fail to see the reason why Jesus should be denied this honor anywhere considering the many contributions his followers do make to the societies in which they exist. Then again, in a country where you have freedom of religion, I don't know why a religious celebration of any type would be considered strange except for those whose traditions are not know.

Some Christians take issue with people celebrating their holiday, but not holding to the beliefs that created it.
It's a bit disingenuous because most Christians aren't very devout the rest of the year; so it's not right for them to shove it down someone's throat for 8-10 weeks a year.
As a Christian, I would like it if people would at least acknowledge Christ's existence, and his contribution to humanity.

No one can "make" anyone believe in anything they don't want to believe in. Christians should show Christianity through the way they live their lives. In the bible, Jesus does tell us to "Go out into all the nations and preach the good news." Now, I agree, some Christians do get a bit pushy; but if my Lord and Savior wants me to tell others about the gospel, that's what I need to be doing.
What YOU do with that info is up to you. We are just following divine orders.

The word Christmas is derived from the word Christ. Ever heard the term "Put Christ back in Christmas"? For those who prefer less commercialism, the Christian idea of Christmas is the one to believe.

I'm pretty sure that would be Easter and not Christmas. Most Churches have people renew their pledges at that time. You must have had some really crappy holidays growing up.I can't afford Christmas but without it we wouldn't have some extra days off to cheer us up.I wouldn't give up my holidays to go back to work.Besides I like all the pretty lights this time of year. Maybe you would prefer the Movie Gremlins instead?

They arn't pushing anything, they simply want to be able to say Merry Christmas and display manger scenes and all that stuff without being scolded for it by the PC police. I'm an agnostic and I don't care about seeing any faiths seasonal holiday stuff put up around the city.

It helps absove them of their sins. They feel like whatever they've done wrong will be forgiven if they "spread the word". While I beleive, I don't necesarrily feel the need to shove it down anyone's throat. Too bad more people aren't feeling so guilty they need to wave a flag. Christmas is LOVE - that's all.

Try to be tolerant...

Yeah, right on. I think its great to hear all the songs on the radio singing of Christ. If I had my way it would happen all year. Heck, we have to watch and listen to a lot of your stuff all year. Come on, cut us some slack, its Christmas, don't be a Scooge. You may have the spirits visit you.

Xmas is their biggest holiday...simply playing ads about the holiday or what it stands for, for them, isn't pushing anything down your throat...you can turn away if you like...it is annoying to some degree yeah, but it's not that big of a deal...

I just ignore it and focus on the more secular aspect of this time of year...the decorations are pretty, the food is delightful, and who doesn't like getting presents??? :)

Did you see the program where the pro-choice woman had to stay in the christian pro-life hostel for 30 days? Its the same sort of thing, they're so worried they're losing "believers" they have to force it as much as they can, its the only way to catch some strays & make them "believe" in a load of twaddle.
