Recently, I worked in an ER and an elderly woman came in by EMS who was very dead after having been coded for some time.

It was sad as she had recently come to the US from Africa to be with her family, who were present and obviously loved her very much.

After we finished our work; we straightened up the body and let the family in to be with her.

For the next 5 hours, they proceeded to LOUDLY command that in the name of Jesus, she get up and rise from the dead....The charge nurse allowed their rituals out of respect, but the staff was visibly uncomfortable as we continued to care for other patients.

I said to another coworker, "if she gets up, I'm going home."

Now my question is, that with that amount of faith, why do you as a Christian believe that God did not answer their request and show everyone around that Jesus is king?

I'm about to give up. I have just officially realized you can not reason with a true believer because it is not so much that they are brainwashed--a state which they can recover from with help, but they are in fact really, really, simple. -- And there is NO help for that, all the reasoning in the world will not help expand their minds because some people's minds are just not wired for deep philosophical thought and reasoning out contradictions.
I am throwing in the towel.

KORAN SAYS :

Jesus WAS NOT CRUCIFIED:
[4.157] And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.

[4.159] And there is not one of the followers of the Book but most certainly believes in this before his death, and on the day of resurrection he (Isa) shall be a witness against them.
JESUS IS NOT SON OF GOD
[4.171] O followers of the Book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not, Three. Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only

lets be honest, im not trying to be a jealous or power hungry person, but why does god get to be the alpha and the omega, omnicious and omnipotent? does that mean were all god?cause thatd be the most logical explanation to me?and is the thought of a life with no higher power at work that scary, that we have to categorize something so simple as the conscience as "god"?cause if we take a look at the ten commandments, they're pretty much things one doesn't do consciously.after all humans do fear the unknown, and they do have an infatuation with labeling?

They go nuts over the horrors of abortion,
yet when you ask if an abortionist_- THe very person who is doing the killing of sometimes tens of thousands of fetus', --Is going to hell they say "well, if he's really sorry and excepts Christ as his savior, you know, all sin is the same in the eyes of the Lord",
Well, then what was the fuss you were making over Partial Birth Abortion!!!!!! Funny, I think there is something special about the brutality of that act compared with stealing or even cheating on your wife.
-- yet it would sound like Christians don't want real offenders who really would deserve it punished in an eternal firey pit , only people who don't believe in God? --What?

furthermore, going a bit deeper, does it make any sense that ANYONE wouldn't accept Jesus in the end once he was proven to exist? Dah!

god has commanded us not to kill. some say that killing, when self defenseive, is justified. nevertheless, christ told us that when somebody slaps us on our cheek we offer our enemy the other, and love them instead of fight them. in fact, the early christians would rather be martyrs than self defensive warriors when face with death in the arenas. moroever, even if killing could be justified when self defensive, collateral killing is inexcusible, and when one commits acts of war, they know that collateral killing will necessarily occur. think: does shooting through a wall into a crowded room make me less a killer because my enemy is among the crowd, and therefore may be among the dead? in act, the bible is clear on the point: god has told us that it is better to let hundreds of the unrightous go unpunished if punishing them meant punishing a single rightous man. should every good christian resist war?

I don't mean to pick on you fundemental Christians out there but I see an awful lot of joy when you think you are right and tell people how they are going to Hell. Is that true Christianity? (Yeah there is a lot of joy in Christian-Bashing as well, but the guys who are doing that are SUPPOSED to be pricks and make no bones about it.)

I mean, why then are some babies born autistic? siamese twins? missing limbs? blind? deaf? etc? I just don't understand that. Furthermore, why do babies die from child beatings? stupid accidents? pedophiles? etc? I don't think I could have praise for someone like that.

My cousin's car caught fire and my cousin's barely made it out with their luggage before the car exploded. Everything in the car was burned very badly . Except for one thing - a copy of the Book Of Mormon. There wasn't even a mark on it ! Can you believe that ! Was this a sign from Our Heavenly Father letting us know that he will always be here ? What does this mean to you ?

...Today I was told by a lot of Christians that they live guilt-free, sinless lives because they know they've got Jesus in their lives. Seems they felt that if you're feeling guilt and doing sin, you're not doing Christianity right.

But I was told by a lot of other Christians that guilt and sin are part of human nature and that even being Christian doesn't stop it. All Christianity buys them is God's forgiveness. They seemed to think that those who felt guilt-less and free of sin were fooling themselves and not doing their Christianity right?

Is this the basic division within Christianity? That one group believes in the power of grace and thus feels guilt-free and sinless, while the other feels that good works must accompany grace, for we are all sinners and guilty of sin?

Can a person get to heaven either way, or is only one of these two options the right way?

And be sorry for that too, that is , if all sin is the same in the eyes of God...
as a matter of fact, if I'm going to be damned, and I 'might' be sorry later on (probably will), what should be my motivation to do anything good at all?
Why shouldn't I go out and screw every guy I meet and have ten abortions! Because if what your saying is true, God sees that as exactly the same as when I shoplifted!
So, I guess that means it's a green light to fornicate and kill like crazy since I curse all the time, why not just be sorry for bigger and multiple offenses!

To those who are "true believers" and not tolerant or mindful of others faiths, what will you do if it was all a mistake? ie, God says at your death, "you were worshiping a cross?? Jesus's DEATH? Oh boy!" or maybe he says "your a hindu? oh boy!"
I worship and pray to every God out there just to be safe.

One does not here much of Joseph and Mary after the child is born but we find Mary by her sons side later in life-What are the last words written regarding Joseph? I mean this kid was born under a star and was given tons of stuff-and at 13 was going to parties that requiered more alcohol than was needed-I am one that believes in Practice what you preach-so perhaps Jesus gave it all away so that he could follow himself-obviously he had the power to never go hungry-he-oh why waste my time! All of todays Christians use Jesus as a way to forgive themselves for the lives the lead which are filled with prejudice (If you are christian YOU R SAVED-if I am not-I am condemed to OUR HELL-is the most prejudiced statement anyone can say because you are saying I should suffer for not believing like you do-like I should be a slave to your beliefs!) There is absolutely none of you that if Jesus came to the world today would give up the luxery of being an American-A Country THAT ESCAPED MONARCHIESgoUSA

statement: MOST of these people are hipocrits.
reason: the number one exsplanation paraphased is "fetus = innocent, bad to kill innocent. death row = murderer, good to kill murderer"
when faced with the facts that it is posible for a wrongfully convited man to be exicuted, they do one of the following:
- ignore the fact
- state any one who is wrongfully convicted must be involved somehow and has some level of guilt
- admits to flaws in the system and the posiblity of a man being wrongfully put to death but says it does more good than harm

to the first option i say they need a brain
to the secondand third i give this
you are person A
person B kills person C.
person B then plant incriminating eveidens with person A's dna
person A is convited and sentanced to death

I'm curious as to how the figure of 33% of the world’s population being Christian was reached. I know that even though I do not believe or practice any faith, that I am in fact counted as one of those 33% (I wonder if I could write the Vatican and get my name off the list...hmm). And I also know that when I was in the Navy almost everyone declared themselves some sort of Christian, roman catholic or was ever, yet few of them really were.
So I guess what I was wondering is what percentage of the 33% actually believe, and of those that do hold some belief how many are actual practicing Christians.
I would bet that the number of "active" members in Christianity is much lower.
Additionally during my research I discovered that percentage wise the Christianity has lost about 3% of it following in the past 100 years. That is to say that in 1900 36% of the population was believed to be Christian and now only 33% are.
