I don't mean to pick on you fundemental Christians out there but I see an awful lot of joy when you think you are right and tell people how they are going to Hell. Is that true Christianity? (Yeah there is a lot of joy in Christian-Bashing as well, but the guys who are doing that are SUPPOSED to be pricks and make no bones about it.)

People like that, like to believe that they have God's backing when they say that sort of thing. They THINK they're so close to God, that He would have to agree. Well...I think they're sadly mistaken. God can do his own condemning if that's what He wants to do. He surely doesn't need the help of some puny human.

Only God knows who goes where, regardless of how badly some of want to tell God who to send where. Unfortunately, theres scripture that tells christians to judge their brothers (meaning those in their own church), meaning to discuss with this brother what it is they feel they're doing wrong. It does not mean go to people who don't even believe and tell them they're wrong, nor does it mean they have any right to really judge anyone else. The wording here is what confused them, they think the word judging means they can say who goes to hell, which it certainly does not say. The bible clearly states that Jesus will be the judge, because he can judge the heart, and many christians seem to believe that they have been given that job. I guess they figure Jesus got fired or something. Sorry, judgmental people are a pet peeve of mine.

I am a Christian and I don't condemn anyone to hell. That's not my job - it belongs to Jesus. I certainly don't take pleasure in even thinking that someone might go to hell. I'm very worried about the people I know AND complete strangers that may end up there. A true Christian follows the teachings of Jesus. He never told anyone that they were going to hell. He constantly spoke about the gift of eternal life that is available to all who believed.

When you have an organization do all the thinking for you it makes a lot of sense. It is that control that hinders a creative thought. So, to have something outside that box and not understand it....naturally you are going to hell but, first stop is damnation.
Think for yourself and understand the differences in people. This would be a much better place.
It is not God wish to be so narrow minded.

Some people are fanatical about their religion of choice and feel that they are right in their beliefs. A lot of the time I'v found that they are often very set in their ways and sometimes are " know it alls" about most other things as well. They take pleasure in being right all the time. Concequently all the rest who do not believe as they do are condemed to hell.

I think that people who appear to be so firm in their belief are actually the ones who doubt themselves the most. Condemning others is another way of condemning yourself. True Christianity is about love and not Hell. For those who think you have all the right answers and are special, remember these scriptures- "For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
Luke 14:11. WE ARE ALL GOING TO HEAVEN! Praise Jesus, Mohammed, and Buddha.

I don't enjoy taking pleasure in condemning people to hell, but the Bible does say that people who do not become Christians will certainly go there. Jesus Christ preached about hell more than any other person in the New Testament.

The reason why we Christians warn you about judgment and hell is because it is real. You see, if you saw someone about to walk out in front of a bus or car, you would try and stop them from the impending danger they were putting themselves in, wouldn't you?

Its not a matter of us condemning people to hell - you do that to yourselves, as you refuse to accept the message of the gospel.
The reason why we warn you is because we care and so does Jesus. He did not come into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

I know a lot of Baptist and Pentecostal folks and all of them love to be disapproving in one way or another of some people's lifestyles. And then when they try to preach to people and it gets rejected, they get their ultimate thrill by sounding ugly and angry and telling them that they had better repent or they are going to hell.

And then, later, we sometimes hear of one of them having an extra-marital affair, or being abusive in one way or another. One man in a friend's church was convicted for tax evasion and submitting illegal documents on his tax return.

But yet they love to put on a holy act, and to tell the rest of us that we are deserving of nothing more than hell. See the attached Baptist church article about this.

I like thinking I'm right, but I don't like the concept of people going to hell. That's why I tell them (gently, in context, and kind of only if they ask), because I don't WANT them to go.

Honestly, evangelism gives me no pleasure. It's scary. I get lots of "thumbs down." It can be confrontational, but sometimes people have genuine questions.

If someone has joy in someone else going to hell, they aren't saved because Jesus isn't their Lord. I am called to have the mind of Christ, and the bible says He is not willing that any should perish.
