Who says god doesnt speak to people now?
sure a good 100 people may have heard from god himself back then.............. but compared with the millions and millions that havent? and with the population we have now, god could speak to 2,000 people and it would probably go unnoticed......
maybe it hasnt gone unnoticed, what if god talked to someone now, and that person claimed "God spoke to me and said this...!!!" People around that person probably would think he's crazy, and not take him seriously.......... there have probably been hundreds of situations like that........
dont' forget god speaks to people in many ways, i think actually hearing a voice from him must be one of the rarest things, god speaks to us through the bible, through other people, through spiritual experiences and the holy spirit.......... we dont neccessarily need to hear a loud thundering voice surround us for him to speak to us

Maybe because ther is so much noise, and we are so busy we forget to listen.
You might try being grateful for what you have, thanking the Universe for giving you life. Then find yourself a peaceful, quiet spot. Get comfortable and listen. It takes practice. But with patience and gratitude you will find you can connect to the universe and "God". It may take several times of going into silence but if you are willing to hear, God will speak.

God had to start up his church back then. He sent great prophets and his son and talked directly to them (i.e. Moses and the burning bush). Now God has His church, and talks to His priests and bishops, cardinals, pope, etc. It may not be as phenomonal as back then, but He still talks to us. Just believe dawg. You don't need a call from heaven to tell you God is there.

God talk to the prophet not directly but trough angel. And the last prophet was Muhammad. That's why we have a book of religion. to follow and to guide our self as human being.

God does speak. Hebrews 12:25 "See that you refuse not him that speaks. For if escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from that speaks from heaven"
Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever"

Simple, if someone came up to you and told you that a burning bush talked to them today, would you belive them that it was God, or would you smile and back away?

God still talks to people. All you have to do is learn to listen with your heart instead of your ears.
