Are you so self-important and swayed by the Bible that you think God stopped after he created such a pathetic species as ours?! He's God, don't you realize that he could have done much better than we have done?! If you get serious for a moment, and think outside the Bible box, you will finally realize that we made the whole stupid thing up, just like we've been creating gods ever since we have had a sense of our own lives!! A god or gods has ALWAYS been the answer to human "mysteries" ever since we began tracking our own history!!

The Bible's God, ruler of the universe, runs counter to the American Constitution. He does not support democracy (He rules; Psalms 2,89,110: the King is Yahweh’s son), freedom of religion (no other gods allowed) or freedom of speech (no blasphemy). So if the Bible was true and the Bible's god did exist, most everyone in the country would be thrown into a lake of fire for supporting things such as democracy, freedom of religion or speech.

I mean, he was the SON OF GOD. All the Greek and Egyption religions that preceeded Christianity had stories of Gods having mortal concubines.

And even if you think Jesus didn't bust a nut, what about his boys?

Maybe not all of u use that when u tell people about Islam, but how does that help your argument? I dont see how. Also Muslims say "islam is not a religion, its a relationship". Thats what christianity is also.

I've seen people post this in recent answers regarding how one becomes a Christian and what beliefs are required.

Seems to me there has to be a catch somewhere.

Many of the vocal but logic-challenged Christians assume simply because I criticize their shoddy arguments that I must be a Christian.

Many Christians feel I can't possibly be a Christian because of my stances on traditional creedal teachings, such as the Trinity or substitutionary atonement.

Who's right? Why?

We as a nation (USA) like to think we are better than others, but does anyone else see a scary similarity between Christian Conservatism and the Taliban? (ie, censorship, gay-bashing, male dominance, Religious Government, forced beliefs). Maybe we fear/condemn this dark side of ourselves?

Do we gain a true understanding of Islam from the moderates, or from the conservative Islamic countries? Why are we in the west called 'infidels' when Islamic countries are marked by authoritarian regimes and sectarian violence? Any thoughts...

Okay.... I believe in God. I go to a presbaterian church although i've also went to lutheren school and my mother used to be catholic. I see things in my dreams and they come true almost everytime. I also have feeling like I kno something is going to happen. I also see spirits that have passed away. Like last night i was with my friend and his mother who was in her car and i turned around and saw his grandmother who always used to stand there... except she died a couple days ago. I can also sense spirits like if there in the house or not. Only my boyfriend knows and i dont want other people to know. But Can i still believe in god and be pyhsic. My mom said a while ago that ghost were'nt real and it had something to do with this whole jesus thing. Can someone plz help me.

Maybe faith is just a mental comforter for what you've been brainwashed to believe.

Atheists dont think about faith. We dont need a mental comforter to make us feel secure about our disbelief

I am not sure what is says about this in the gospel of the FSM. Even though it hurts absolutely no1 and provides myself with pleasure I am sure the great FSM would not agree. What do you all think?
