Whatever any of us believe or think, Truth is True, right? It sounds so simple but so many people talk about beliefs as if they're selecting them based upon how it fits what they want. They want life to be a certain way and so they adopt a belief system that tells them it's so. Weird. Whatever I believe doesn't affect the truth so ... why not try and go beyond all the belief and concept stuff? Go beyond the whole perceptual realm (religion, science, etc.) and see if there's something that can be experienced directly, without perception. The bottom line: all thuoght and belief systems are shaky and unstable, with a limited effect on the person adopting them. Evolution, science, religion, etc. should all be used as tools for finding out for ourselves what's true.

LOL!
I'm thinking you are attaching WA-AY too much importance on the role the theory has on most Atheist's lives.
It's like asking "does the theory of gravity, or the theory of quantum physics lead to a life of meaningless?" Of course not! They are just methods of explaining Life, to some extent, with the added bonus of vast quantities of proven, testable ideas to support it. "Meaning" comes with life itself!
Not all Atheists need to be scientists too, you know? Some, are even as unintelligent as christians, as incredible as that may seem!
(I was joking...don't get all upset! There is the odd clever christian about...) (wink)

No. Taking your question in its implied wider context (that we are a species of animal living in an uncreated universe), the fact that this is the only life we will ever have means it couldn't possibly be *more* meaningful. Everything you want to do, you will have to do in this life or not at all. All the meaning and purpose that inspire you, apply to this life or not at all.
If you want to look at it that way, what evolution tells us is that this life is all there is, so grab it with both hands and make the most of it.

I have never understood why evolution and religion should be mutually exclusive. No one can know the facts for certain, but I do believe that if evolution is true, then God was the power that touched human's souls at that evolutionary point.

We descended from animals, life is nothing but a 80 year joke.
Not only do I think it leads to a life of meaninglessness I believe it leads to a life of self loving.
I believe it leads to a life of where people think me me me, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. Not saying this happens to everyone that believes in this, however I think its a common bi-product.
ADDITION
Guys, this is more than a theory to many, many whole heartily believe in this. In schools teachers teach it as "99.9% of scientists believe its a fact, not an opinion or Theory but fact" That is a direct quote from a 10th Grade World History Class. I think when its proposed that way it leaves no room for kids to think what they want.

First it is not a theory..it is a model. A theory has been tested, we cannot test evolution.
I don't agree at all with evolution as there is no proof, but I believe by researching evolution one might see God is the creator and the fallicy of evolution and thus get saved.

Nope. One can be highly spiritual, and still believe in evolution.

Yes, i do. Why live if not for God? Why love others if God didn't love me? Why bother chugging through this life we are just going to die and everything we did was for survival and our own pleasure?
