Well, if someone is saying that then they probably do not just think that this statment alone is sufficient. Islam is supposed to be the message from god. It is true that it's not named after a person because we believe that God sent all his prophets with this same message of Islam, which is to worship the one true god and submit your heart to god. Therefore, Muslims do not worship a human being (prophet Muhammad) we just believe that he was a messenger of God such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and so forth.

It took me a while to figure out your question. Since our religion Islam not named after a person, so it's not a true religion? I assume that's what you are trying to say. Well, following your analogy what about Judaism, Hinduism?

That arguement alone does not make Islam true. It's just one of the facts to take note of when comparing religions.

Islam means to submit to G-d-that is more than the other religions say in their name. I think it is a good name.
