Many of the vocal but logic-challenged Christians assume simply because I criticize their shoddy arguments that I must be a Christian.
Many Christians feel I can't possibly be a Christian because of my stances on traditional creedal teachings, such as the Trinity or substitutionary atonement.
Who's right? Why?

billthedude_2000: Yep, you are right about the error.
Many of the vocal but logic-challenged *atheists* assume simply because I criticize their shoddy arguments that I must be a Christian.

I've actually been wondering about that. I don't know who's right. Will you tell us and clear up the confusion? If not, cool. Peace.

Different Strokes for different folks.lol,I know what you are talking about,my Dad,God rest his soul, was very well read on the Bible. We always had conflicting views about certain scriptures.I said that they were cast into the lake of fire and burnt up,he said that I didn't believe there is a hell.He would embarrass me every time he got the chance and tell people,oh yeah my son does not believe there is a hell.We all have our own interpretations as we understand it.Am I a Christian? And are you?Yes as much as the next guy/girl,we all will fall short of the glory of God,but that does not mean we will go to hell.If we believe that Jesus Christ, died on the cross and rose again for our sins, then we are Christians.Peace and God Bless You!!

Do you believe that Jesus was the Son of God? Do you believe that He shared the Word of the Lord with His followers? Do you believe He gave His life so that others may have eternal life? Do you follow His teachings (especially to love and accept others)? If so, you are a Christian.

You are what you are. I don't make assumptions on anyone's belief. I prefer not to hold a person to a label.
As far as wrong or right.. only you know what you believe.. I'm not sure wrong or right actually comes into it. There are many different beliefs even within christianity and many outside of it and to me none are wrong nor right they just are.

I find that people who are confused in life, try an "alternative"
lifestyle of new age....wicca, etc. The bible is here for a reason
people, it is not here to condemn you....but to save you.
Anyways, Do you see AA meetings mentioning Thor, the God of
Thunder for their personal salvation ?.. NO. The word BIBLE :
Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

God is the sole judge.
But if you have admitted you are a sinner, believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins, rose again three days later as the Son of God and then called upon Him to save you and of course you meant it, then you are a Christian.

Your first paragraph has an error in it - you meant to say 'atheists'. What you really are is someone like the rest of us: someone with an ego, who wants to feel special and recognized, and who wants the ego to feel good by besting others in debate. Accept that you're nothing special (like the rest of us) and the question goes away.

It could be you are a postmodern christian. But there are still the foundational truths of Jesus paying the price and you accepting it that really starts your journey with Christ. It is a race, are you winning?

Do you not understand how a person becomes a Chrisitan?
For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

You are not a Christian. Unless you are standing up for the Gospel of Jesus Christ you are not a Christian.
