The Bible indicates that God revealed His will to selected people through dreams or visions in Scriptures such as Genesis 8:12; 37:5-10; 1 Kings 3:5-15; Daniel, chapters 2 and 7; Matthew 1:20; 2:13,19; and Acts 10:9-16; 16:9. God may communicate through dreams or visions even today, but we need to carefully check any such guidance we receive with Scripture and godly counsel to be sure it is from the Lord. Anything which contradicts Scripture is not from God. Our minds and even Satan are capable of producing great deception in such subjective areas. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 shows that God has revealed His will to us primarily through His Word. It says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
There are many people who have lost loved ones and who would desperately like to be able to talk with them again or receive messages from them. This desire is understandable, but contacting the dead is not permitted by God according to the Bible. The attempt is a sin against God and results in either deception or involvement with demonic entities impersonating the dead.
I urge you, as strongly as I know how, not to dabble or get involved in anything to do with occult practices, including this one. At best, they are deceptive and fraudulent; at worst, they can involve you in matters which are satanic in origin.
"The Bible is very clear that such things are false and will only lead you away from God and His truth. In the Old Testament God commanded, 'Let no one be found among you ... who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord' (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).
"The Bible urges us to turn in faith to Christ and to seek the truth He has given us in the Bible. God's Word alone gives us spiritual truth; any other path will lead us astray. Occult practices will never tell us with finality what is beyond the grave, but because of His resurrection we can know from Christ everything we need to know."
It is critically important for anyone who has been involved in this or any other occult practice to confess it to God as a sin, renounce the practice, and turn to Jesus Christ for His forgiveness, cleansing and protection. Consultation with a Gospel-preaching pastor may be wise. A book such as "The Bondage Breaker" by Neil Anderson has been helpful to many. It would be available through a Christian bookstore.

Yes, you can be psychic and believe in God. Many have been taught from early childhood that the prohibition found in the Bible against speaking with the spirit of the dead covers all spirits, not just the spirit of the dead. Like most other beliefs taught at such an early age, we usually don't pause to question it. Some have been advised to say, "Go away, Satan!" to any and all spirits who might attempt to talk with us -- no matter who the spirit may say he is. The Bible states explicitly that God is a Spirit. [John 4:24] Therefore, if we also include Him in this prohibition, we very well may find ourselves calling God by the name of "Satan."
If we had been commanded to refuse to talk with any spirit whatsoever, there would have been no reason for the warning cautioning us not to believe every spirit, but only the Spirit who has proved itself as proceeding from God. [1 John 4:1] The entire Bible was written by, and about, people who communicated with a Spirit -- the Spirit of God and the Spirit of the Living. I think all of the Christian sects, no matter how diverse they may be in other areas, agree with one another that God is the Author of the Bible. And they also agree that He used human agents to write it in its material form. These human agents were all psychics.

Welcome to the club. I have been through this for all of my life. I had these gifts that God has blessed me with since I was younger (except, I don't see spirits, but I can feel their presence)
I am a non denominational Christian and for the longest it was hard for me because people didn't understand. I now know that I have a strong spirit of discernment and a gift for words of knowledge and wisdom of knowledge (you can look it up). The apostolic Christian faith understood walking in these gifts and taught me a little more and I also watch this show called the 700 club that is a ministry that is based on helping the poor and also working with those gifts (you can go to cbn.com to find out when the show is on). I use my gifts for Jesus and that is it. I went to the other side because no one in the church would help me, but it is not for me because it will open other doors that you don't want opened...believe me when I tell you this. You have a definite gift, be careful with it, use it for good and not for gain and be careful who you tell, because as you've seen in earlier posts, people don't usually understand. If you have any questions you can go to my page and email me. I will be more than glad to answer any questions that you may have. Be Blessed!

You are hopelessly warped and ignorant, and you hang on to other-worldly events because you cannot handle this world! Realism is something you are completely unfamiliar with, and I would seriously consider checking myself into a well-known institution for the study of psychotic behavior! Somewhere along the line, you have completely lost touch with reality, but you will insist that it's real because you are insane! There ARE a lot of people who believe in Jesus, but that is also a symptom of insanity to those whose feet are firmly on the ground, and who don't NEED false gods to help them. I'm sorry, but you are simply insane and in need of psychological assistance! I don't know how else to put it!
A great example for you is the lady above "InAtlanta"! She says that the Bible says not to contact the spirit world--WHAT THE HELL DOES SHE THINK JESUS AND GOD ARE?! THE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS??! WHAT THE HELL DOES SHE THINK PRAYER IS??! Be very careful, or you may just end up like her!!

Stat away from other believes, what you see is what you see, your mom knows nothing, she is just trying to help but is not, has nothing to do with Jesus, not only Christian has visions, I know a couple of people like that, don't tell anybody they won't understand, some gifts can be a burden if you resist them, don't try to explain i, just take it and use it

Being a psychic can't make you not believe in God, its your choice whether you want to believe or not. I would think that your gift would strengthen your relationship with God, because he chose you for a reason.

I'm sure you can. I assure you, whatever powers you may have have nothing with the "whole Jesus thing". You just have a gift.
