The majority of voters in the country are Christians, and a majority of those voters are Conservative Christians. Unless this majority becomes convinced that they have to give equal rights to those who disagree with their faith, then the current trend is toward Taliban-like government. For example:
The US House passed a constitutional amendment against gay marriage and another against flag burning.
The Senate voted to uphold a large cross erected on public property.
Supreme Court justices cannot gain appointment without a track record of restricting women's reproductive rights.
The White House installed an office for Faith-Based Initiatives in an effort to give tax-payer dollars to organizations that discriminate against those who harbor different religious beliefs.
Science teachers have been instructed to insert religion into science, to treat the bible as a scientific textbook.
We have to convince even conservative Christians that yielding broad-based freedom of religion and replacing it with Fundamentalist Christianity renders the country no longer free at all. They need to join us in the effort to keep religion out of politics, and they must be willing to risk not being the majority in the US in order to let the US retain liberty.

I might agree with your original sentiment, concerning the USA. However the differences between Taliban and Christianity are wide, and vastly different. Taliban do not even adhere to their own beliefs...or should I say the teaching of their belief, which do not include terrorism in any form. They choose to use some minor mentions of "evil in the West" as us. Instead of the was it was intended.
This is of course no different than people in the US who, even though they have never really tried to study the scriptures, and insist on applying their uninformed and uneducated opinions to them. People who hold agnostic or atheistic beliefs rarely even study their own ideology to form a real idea, much less come to an informed decision. When in reality, the people who do such things are more like the Taliban than any Christian could ever hope to be.

Yes. But hopefully others will realize this and not let the christians have too much political power. If USA becomes too christian, then it is a sure sign to leave the country.. I will definitely move to Europe or China. The USA is on a really bad downward spiral...mainly because its economy is still slave-based ("illegal aliens" are the new slaves) and they can only survive with a war-time economy. Whatever. Viva la China!

Apparently you DON'T believe our nation to be better as indicated by your tone. Fix that attitude first or leave.
On to the rest: Christian conservativism is supposed to be good, as are the other life lessons in the Bible, and of course ultimately salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible is a moral compass without equal. Nobody, including the government is forcing your cooperation though. A problem does arise however, when we think of bad as good and good as bad. Contrary to pop culture, these terms are not relative nor interchangeable.
Checkout www.persecution.com for censorship issues.
Now to address the plank-eye issue: You mention Christians who "gay-bash" right after you compare them with the taliban? You cast the first stone there...
Perhaps if you spoke with local Christian clergy, they may have better explainations for you. That is what they are called to do you know. But if you don't want to hear the answers, don't go.

Move the "Will" over in the sentence and place it between Conservatism and become. Perhaps it already has. The Ayatollah Falwell governs from Lynchburg, VA.

Maybe not, there seems to be some pushing back. They finally got over-the-counter status to the morning after pill. We will see in November if this is just simple luck or a push back.

The Department of Faith has very specific goals about this, and one of them is to covert all new citizens, to be better Americans. See the attached.
Onward Christian soldiers!
