god has commanded us not to kill. some say that killing, when self defenseive, is justified. nevertheless, christ told us that when somebody slaps us on our cheek we offer our enemy the other, and love them instead of fight them. in fact, the early christians would rather be martyrs than self defensive warriors when face with death in the arenas. moroever, even if killing could be justified when self defensive, collateral killing is inexcusible, and when one commits acts of war, they know that collateral killing will necessarily occur. think: does shooting through a wall into a crowded room make me less a killer because my enemy is among the crowd, and therefore may be among the dead? in act, the bible is clear on the point: god has told us that it is better to let hundreds of the unrightous go unpunished if punishing them meant punishing a single rightous man. should every good christian resist war?

So you're saying that a man cannot defend his wife and daughters from being raped by a man invading their house? Defend your family and wife! Why because you love them, you have a duty to protect. As far as war, we are not to let anyone just come and kill us?! They have an agenda and we are just defending ourselves and there is nothing wrong or sinful about that. A good Christian is not equated with good works but the intention of the heart. A man can show how good he is to the world but no one would know that deep down he is maybe a pedophile or a child molestor and its only a matter of time when he acts upon it. The heart is what God looks at not what we do or don't do.

Well we can not stand by and watch someone being murdered. And we are to help those who are oppressed.
I don't like war- but we are still dealing with man here.

How can anyone believe the Bible from a reasonable perspective?

There is another name we use for 'collateral damage' when it happens stateside, it's called depraved heart murder.
