First of all, realize that even in the Old Testament, tithes were paid with herbs in most cases. Now in the New Testament IICorinthians 9:7
I Corinthians 16:2
Matthew 23:23
II Corinthians 11:7,8
II Corinthians 8:15 Check these verses to give me your opinion. I believe in taking care of the Church with the money taken up, but I also believe that someones going to have to answer for all the money in the Church's bank account, as families and children do go hungry, without proper clothing, and mistreated while the church pads the seats and do all sorts of things involving money like sports going out to Mcdonalds etc. Read Matthew 25:34-40

The dream, a group of people publicly announced on television that they found jesus, and the group was an official government leader. They had jesus reveal all the mysteries about everything publicly inquired about and did some hands on healing. The leaders then said jesus was in approval of what they were doing.
The flip side of the dream was that Jesus was like the manchurian candidate and taught reiki, shapeshifting, mediumship, and spiritual alchemy.
It seemed like they wanted to get someone's attention.
Crazy dream.

I learned in school that we're supposed to ask questions on things that we DON'T understand. It's like asking someone's opinion on a issue just so that you can argue the validity of your own seemingly well-developed idea of the issue. Within the Body of Christ, do we mean to do this intentionally or is it by happenstance when it comes to asking spiritual questions?

Why do they blow up innocent people all around the world?
Why are they teaching their children to be intolerant, fanatics, and to hate whoever is different? Maybe to have plenty of soldiers to destroy other ways of life and conquer the world?

Ive heard many many times that there Bible doesnt have any conttradictions in it, it simply needs to be intrepreted correctly, or the writings are being taken out of context. However, I cannnot see how the following contradictions are anything BUT contradictions. Please, help me understand how I am taking these passages wrong:

Matthew 5:1-2 Christ preached his first Sermon on the Mount. Luke 6:17 & 20 Christ preached his first sermon in the plain. WHICH IS IT?? Thats not simply a differing viewpoint from two writers. That is clearly a contradiction.
Is Paul a liar??? In Acts 20:35 Paul told people "to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Since Jesus never made such a biblical statement, is Paul guilty of deception? Is this not a contradiction??

Serious responses only please.

Does anyone ever question whether the bible is really God's word. Have you applied the principles to your life, seriously, and saw God's results?

Have you ever given to any organozation and saw God's blessings. I will be honest with you, I have not and have been a Christian for years. But does the lack of blessings from God's word really mean God is not there? I do not know. Starving children, cancer children, genocides and other killings based on race, religion, ethnicity! What can we really say about God and his reality? Comments?

I can understand how there can be one or two bad apples that have gotten into the atheist barrel, but how can it be that the vast majority of atheists have problems with simple logic? Is it because most of you are much younger than I expect? it certainly would be unfair of me to expect a university level of education if you are all really Middle School students. Or is it just that you have never had classes in logic and never read any books on it? What's the problem?

Mk.16:17-18 says "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.", doesn't that mean true believers can't die of poisoning?

Would they have chosen to follow him or just stay with Pharaoh and keep working for him?

Seems to me they got the shaft either way... personally I'd rather stay in one spot and work than wander around some desert with 1000's of other people for 40 years.

As I see very few chiming in on my last question on how the Bible supports religious tolerance . . .

Or is religous freedom only good if you are free to be Christian but nothing else?

I have a dream to develop a distinctive American Islamic culture, and I enjoy imagining to myself what forms it would take. I am confident that in the long term this can happen, but there are still many hurdles to get over although I think they are all solvable by time. Especially if the Muslim community becomes confident that it is here to stay, that it has something that post-Christian America needs desperately — a religion that solves the problems yet has the same teachings of the Biblical prophets (peace be upon them and upon all the righteous servants of God).
