Islam is based on converting the world to Islam. If people do not accept their belief they are required to kill what they call the infidels. and in oing so they will get a huge reward in heaven.

I am not a Muslim but I have lived in a Muslim country for sometime. Most Arab countries are lead by Royal Families and this is just my observation. Leaders in those countries are never elected by people and its leadership are always through successions by one family only.
Within the country chances are there are people who are never satisfied with what they have and so they rebel and thought of ideas that may give them the dreams that they want. Normally these are relatives or friends of the ruling family. Since out of fear, respect or relations they dared not to make troubles within the kingdom. If they do, their chances of not being caught and punished is slim and they know they have no valid reason to make troulbe with their brothers.
Using fundamentalist belief in their faith, they will organize a group who could get the attention of their leaders by making troubles elsewhere and the best target are those powerful countries outside their religion specially with business relations primarily the oil buyers.
Along this line, both countries are hostage to their propagandas and power play. The help their own country raise the price of the oil supply by all the havocs they play and oil buyers are forced to buy the oil at price they have less control.
Muslims are not the violent people. Those created by greed and have been using the the fundamentalist beliefs as their leverage.

There is a lot of violence in all religions. Do a little history reading on the darker side of Christianity and you'll find Christians are no exception. I don't necessarily blame religion, people will justify there actions in all sorts of ways and sometimes use religion to justify bad things as well. Some southern religious people tried to use the Bible to justify owning slaves since it didn't openly condemn slavery.
I think Muslims seem more violent because some of their sects have become very radical. I think this is because of political and economic reasons. They have suffered oppression. History shows that when people are oppressed and impoverished they tend to become more radically religious. I think that Jewish and Christian people have just escalated the violence though and I don't see that as helping or solving anything. Killing lots of families and children is only going to make people more radical and I don't think will lead to better relations. We need to create a fair solution to the Isreal/Palestine issue and open a mutual dialog between our different countries. More justice and fairness will solve the problem better than bombs I think. Just to be clear here---I do not condone terrorism, it is wrong, it only makes things worse.

I'm Christian and I don't do not agree w/ you at all. Who do you think the muslim terrorists are terrorizing? There own people who are Muslim too and long for peace. Don't assume all Muslims are violent that is ignorant. Any religion can be violent, like Christian extremists who blow up abortion clinics. I know thats is wrong but don't put it in your own hands. Oh yea have you ever heard of Hitler???!!!! Have you heard of the crusades wasn't people of the Christian religion who came to America and killed off the Natives??? Ever heard of the Inquisition???

Oh, good holy grains! Look at yourself. People are so hypocritical. YOU are intolerable AS WELL to other religions, no? Read your question. YOU hate others who are Different, no? Read your question.
Don't try and be self righteous when you have Intolerable Hypocrite written all over you.
Who taught you to think this way? Oh, let's see could it have been your Faith? Or your parents?
I give your question a big fat 'Zero.'

Well, Christians killed 50 million Christians in WW2 what's the big deal?
The Crusaders were Christians and they massacared 5 million Jews and Muslims(including women and children) and even ate their flesh!!! during their capture of Jerusalem. What's the big deal? Hitler, Timothy McVeigh, KKK, Bush and Milosevic any more to say,,,
people are different and cannot be judged solely on the basis of their religion.

Yeah, like just because Rev. Pat Robertson wanted President Chavez murdered (with his statement about Muslims), so what? And just because Bush sent in the troops in Iraq without UN approval, so what? There is a master plan in all of this, see attached.

You have to look at the founders of the various religions:
* Buddha: was content to sit under a tree all his life.
* Jesus: didn't lift a finger to save his own life as he was taken to the cross
* Moses: rather than start a war against the Egyptians, just wanted his people to be set free so they could go back to their homeland
* Muhummed: pillaged entire villages, razing them to the ground, raping the women, killing the men, and stealing all their worldly goods and selling their children into slavery.
With a founder like that, it's no wonder the Muslims are so violent.

This is really a narrow-minded question. If you look at the people who commit murder in America, the majority of them would be Christian. They may not do it in the name of their beliefs, but to say that one religion is more violent than another without looking at all the facts is ridiculous. Throughout history from the Crusades to the inquisition to slavery and manifest destiny, many violent acts of murder were committed by Christians.

All religions share the same premise, which is whoever doesn't believe what you believe is wrong. It seems obvious then that people take it too far and actually kill for their beliefs. All religions have done it at one point.
