Does anyone ever question whether the bible is really God's word. Have you applied the principles to your life, seriously, and saw God's results?

Have you ever given to any organozation and saw God's blessings. I will be honest with you, I have not and have been a Christian for years. But does the lack of blessings from God's word really mean God is not there? I do not know. Starving children, cancer children, genocides and other killings based on race, religion, ethnicity! What can we really say about God and his reality? Comments?

We think of God as a person. Now, imagine how many different intelligent creatures there must be out there in the Universe. Why should God be like us or us like Him? Do we have a dedicated god for our planet, our solar system, our Galaxy?
To imagine how God should be like is an impossible task for our intelligence, but, as we do have a brain let's do like the Mathematicians and try a few logic considerations.

1.We are subject to Time, but God must be eternal. Past present and future, all as present.
2.Then, any God's "action" should be eternal. Must have always existed. Which is to say that what we perceive as an action, in fact has always been part of God's essence.
3.Nothing today, the Universe tomorrow? It makes no sense thinking temporally about the Creation. If today and tomorrow are the same for God, then the Creation must be part of His essence. Must be the result of His will, but not the result of an "action" in time. (An action implies the satisfaction of a need, which doesn't make much sense either).
4.The discussion between evolutionists and creationists is another example of our stupidity. The evolution is simply our perception of the creation process. Maybe the creation always existed and will go on forever.

To understand "good" and "evil" is a lot more difficult... I didn't eat the right apple!

Living creatures struggle to survive and dislike pain. Bad or "evil" is anything that causes pain or endangers the life of other creatures, specially of those similar or close to ourselves.

Of course we dislike pain, but who said life should be easy and painless?

At a cosmic level, does evil have a meaning? Is a red ant evil when it kills a black ant? Is a soldier evil when he kills an enemy? I confess not having an answer to that.

What I definitely do not grasp is the meaning of cruelty. Why does it exist? Why should anybody rejoice on somebody else's pain? Maybe that perhaps is the true "evil".

Sorry for not having answered your question. Just a few hints to exercise the brain. Cheers!

God will bless you, but you have to seek His face and not His hand. If your just in this to get things from Him then you won't get anything at all. But yes, God has blessed me alot. He healed my father of malignent lung cancer twice. My brother got in an accident and was told that he would never taste or smell things again and he can do both of those things now through God's help. But the Christian life isnt about being blessed, it about being with God! And in all seriousness I cant believe my ears when i hear other Christians saying that God has never blessed them! Did you know that the day you asked Jesus Christ into your heart He saved you from an eternity in hell? That's deffinetly a blessing in itself!!!! God wakes you up every morning! Right there's another blessing! And if you actually believe that you havent been blessed on the earth then you deffinetly will in heaven. Because God tells us in His Word that we will be rewarded in heaven. God bless you and i hope that God reveals Himself to you in this situation. Count your blessings!!!!

No matter how evil men choose to get, God remains perfect. Since I have prayed for God to open my eyes to the world, he gave me the Bible. Do realize though, the Bible isnt just a book; its a volume of books. Over 40 different authors written over the span of 1500 years from various languages and cultures. Yet they all point to Jesus as our Savior.

I have indeed applied the principles in the Bible. Nobody ever said it was easy. It takes time, discernment, and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." -Acts 2:38

People have tried to burn the Bible to get rid of itand it is still here.
Voltaire a atheist said that in his life time he would stamp out the
religion of Christianity but after he died a Bible Store opened up in
the room he made the statement from.

Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Gods Word is settled in heaven. Psa 119:89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
In Christ in Love,

I rejected God's word for a long time. Slowly, I stopped rebelling, and things got easier (duh). Then I started reading, and trying to follow his instructions ... my soul is so much more restful, and my soul doesn't hurt like it used to.

The Blessed Mother Theresa of Kalcuta also suffered from the "Black Void" of following God's word but not feeling God the way I do today. She still kept following God's word and led a life of poverty, obediance, and chastity while struggling with witnessing men dying in street gutters --- where she'd pull him off the street, tend to his wounds, share love while he died, and basically give him what he could not get on his own. She wrote many times about loosing the closness with God, but since she had the feeling once in her heart, she pulled from this past memories to continue God's mission God had placed before her.

I dont believe the bible is gods word. Firstly it was written by men, so why would god show himself to those people but not to us? The bible shows some good basic moral values for life (dont kill or steal etc) but i dont believe its the word of god (if he exists). Its good you are questioning his existance though, i feel the one thing that discredits christians today is they follow blindly with little or no understanding of what they are preaching.

I kinda do. Like with incest... if he said it was a sin then why did he just create Adam and Eve to populate the earth? Cause their kids would have to have boing boing with each other... and so one. And if smoking and drinking and drugs are a sin then why did he create tobacco, and stuff to be able to make alcohal???
