Which do you think the universe is structured out of? Why?

But now it's wrong and you are excommunicated if you are?
I've been LDS all my life but there are too many things in my faith that just don't make sense to me. It's seems like there are so many contradictions.
I pray to God when I need to but I don't go to church anymore.

(1) If the Book of Mormon is true then, considering the way it was "translated" why have there been any changes made to it?

(2) If The Book of Mormon is true then why does it seem to copy the KJV of the Bible? Even so far as to copy the words that were added by the translators, and errors in the Hebrew?

(3) Why is there no archeological evidence of the Book of Mormon's claims? And why does the evidence seem to contradict it? E.g. the animals, crops, and metalworking.

(4) If Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, then why did some of his prophecies fail to come to pass?

(5) if the other scriptures are true why do they seem to contradict each other?

(6) And how do you explain that the Book of Abraham does not read as Joseph Smith claimed it did?

I'm not just trying to attack mormons, I am reseaching Mormonism (a copy of the Book of Mormon is in the mail) and I would like to give Mormons a chance to answer my questions

Why do most Christians think we are so lost?
I am a Athiest. I am fine with other beliefs and I think people should believe in whatever makes them happy. I choose not to believe in God or the story of Christ. I am happy, successful and loved. Why do so many Christians judge me a bad person or a follower of satan(this is very silly)or immoral? Is it so hard to understand that just because I don't believe like you does not make me a "bad" person. You can think I'm going to hell all you want, it doesn't bother me because I don't believe there is a hell. What about Jewdism, Wicca, Pagan, Buddist...etc. Thier beliefs are as strong as yours. Why should you judge them "bad" people that are going to hell? Is it really so hard to comprehend that people can have different beliefs than yours and be happy, good and moral?

***please note I said many and most, not ALL.

You see me and my best friend Susie are both proud to be big girls (im 300 lbs and shes 280). My Grandparents like Susie and invited me and her to church with them. They are Lutherans. Anyways Susie and me thought it would be funny to get real gassy before the service- and each ate a can of baked beans (the kind with pork in it). We did this without my Grandparents Knowing. Anyways- and this is the funny part- during the service we kept blowing big ones during the priest's comments and kept giggling. My Grandma told us to stop, but we couldn't help it lol! We giggled and said "O excuse me" each time we farted! Some people were so uptight they got up and left. The priest then stopped the sermon and told My Grandparetns and us to leave. Everyone looked at us hatefully. Now my Grandparents wont speak to me. Im thinking "Come on! We were just playing!" How come they couldnt see the humor in that?

That the LDS Church is right there to help with food, clothes, things of that nature? But when it comes down to their own members, they treat them like crap?
They want you to pay your tithing but they don't want to ever help you in return when you need it.
They are swimming in money because the church goers give it to them. Would they be broke if it wasn't for us?
Why won't they help those of their own faith?
(I am LDS so don't even think of saying I'm discriminating. I call it like i see it.)

The bible has been rewritten several times in different languages.

What if everything they said about going to heaven was really about going to hell?

All it takes is ONE major screw up about heaven and hell and you're on your way to the lake of fire because you've been mislead

Where in scripture can I find stories that relate to people that overcame their situation by praising God? Example: The way Paul and Silas were freed from prison as they sang praises to God.

I am Atheist and I am quite well educated and very happy. Am I the lone exception? Would I be happier if I blindly accepted that I was created to serve/worship a God that there was absolutely no proof of? Oops, I shouldn't question his existence or I will surely burn in hell.

According to most of you who appear as Christians on this board, the bible is the word of God and God is your supreme being/ creator. Most of you claim the Bible as evidence of God's existence, and quote whenever convienient to support your beliefs. You claim the Bible is true, and that one must read the Bible to learn, and to be able to act within the boundaries of, God's plans for humanity. The Bible, however, was written in Hebrew (OT) and Greek (NT). How can any of you claim to be reading the Bible unless you have studied Hebrew or Greek? Not to be facetious, but if I believed that a superior being had written me a letter explaining life and telling me what to do, I would want to read the original and not someone else's agenda driven translation. In short, how can you call yourself a Christian when you haven't bothered to learn the languages in which your sacred texts were written?

Why, is the “inferior” ape family still in existence, but not a single one of the presumed intermediate forms, which were supposed to be more advanced in evolution? You speak of the whole "survival of the fittest", but why then is the inferior ape family still around, and not the itermediate form, seeing as it would be more "fit"..?

Has it occurred to anyone else...
(1) Bush and most conservative christians vehemently oppose abortion and teen-age (and increasingly adult, including for married couples)
birth control; and,
(2) Bush and most conservative christians support the war; that, therefore,
(3) They are of the former because they need more cannon fodder for the latter!

Every time someone asks a question about one of the idiocies in the old testament, a crowd of jesus freaks materialises saying it doesn't matter, because jesus overturned all the teachings in it. So why have it at all? Dropping it would stop at least half the tedious debates in this thread.
