It's all about calming the mind to find peace.

The rosary, prayer, and other religious activities seek to do the same. And, I would add, for those who attempt to calm the mind through these methods, they are usually quite successful.

I think.. it is one of the questions that you have to answer when trying to become Buddhist.. There are several tasks../ questions you have to answer and this is one of them. Kind of intersting. Just something your'e suppose to contemplate I guess. I know bc one of my friends was trying to convert and had to undergo some of these indepth questions.. they make you think...and are suppose to help you grow spiritually?..
