What if everything they said about going to heaven was really about going to hell?
All it takes is ONE major screw up about heaven and hell and you're on your way to the lake of fire because you've been mislead

Hahaha! I often wonder who the truly evil one is. God or Satan? God wants you to deny this life to live forever in the after life, Satan wants you to take advantage of this life and die in the end. God is a prankster, because I believe there is no afterlife, so all those suckers who believe in God will deny this life, and then die in the end anyways.

You need not worry about this issue--as an atheist, you have decided to go to hell no matter WHAT the Bible says! Once you find out the truth about there actually being an life after this one, it will be too late for you, anyway.
As to your question, I find it best to check several translations on a regular basis, giving the most credence to the ones which went back to the original tongues (Aramaic, Greek & Hebrew) that It was origionally written in.
But the most effective means of insuring one is getting the Truth, and not some mangled, mis-construed, mis-translated false doctrine; is to pray for guidence from the Holy Spirit first [as if YOU could relate], and check things out with other Christians who are more versed in the Word, and are doing well spiritually.
But no one person should be trusted for answers about important doctrinal questions...keep praying & keep asking, until the Spirit leads you to the Truth, and it sets you free.
What you fail to realize, is that you DO have a god in your life...everyone does, be it their job, sex, their car, love & relationships, their home, drugs, their "toys", answering stupid questions on "Ask Yahoo", or what have you. Your god could be defined as whatever it is that you venerate above all else---whatever it is that you spend the most time, money and effort on; this would be your true love, or "god" in your life.

That would be truly unfortunate. That would probably mean that you would go to Heaven and all the good people on earth would go to Hell, all because of a single screw up. I doubt that that kind of an error could have occured though, because we have taken direct translations from documents found in the Middle East themselves. So the only possibility is that the words heaven and hell were complicated in the process of translating one language to another. Very unlikely if you ask me.

There are over 25,000 different pieces of literature that reconfirm the authenticity of the Bible and it's historical accuracy given through many centuries and a wide variety of sources. The scholars that translated the Bible throughout the years were so detailed in their transcribing that they would count out how many blocks of lettering, spacing existed and if a translation was off by one digit the entire text transcribed by hand would be thrown out.
Your postulation is not only grossly off the mark but your confidence and reliance on yourself to save your soul will be a huge letdown one day.

What if hell is a place created by each individual, to satisfy their own needs, or to impose upon weak minds, and Heaven is where we who love God go?

hi your a pretend because in case your Atheist and your do not believe in God or the afterlife than you would not believe in Hell. You pronounced that we Christian will visit hell. Whatever. The hebrew bible which is the real version says heaven is heaven and hell is hell, so nothing is wrong or mistaken in our English bibles translation. So come on and give me a break...

Koran is the only book that was not changed, and it is written in one language which is Arabic
Christian people should convert to Islam, because it is the only true religion in the world. Also, the Koran is the last book.
Also, i want to say that muslims believe in the same god that Chritians and Jews believe.

That's why I choose to read the king james version of the bible. It's the most direct translation.

I'm not gonna bother answering your stupid question, all I'm gonna say is: Wouldn't you rather live life like there is a God, to find out that there isn't? Than to live life like there is no God, to find out that there is?
