A question to all the Christians out there: what exactly did Jesus give up, allowing himself to be crucified? He was already in his thirties when he died; in some Bronze Age backwater town he might have expected to live another, what -- fifteen years? Thirty, at the outside? And in exchange, he gets to RULE, in PARADISE, FOREVER?!?! Where's the sacrifice? Where's the loss -- particularly when he comes back to life three days later anyway?

The story of the crucificion only works as a noble sacrifice if this life is the only one we get; yet Jesus is so compliant and allows himself to be crucified PRECISELY because he knows it doesn't really "count" anyway....

Do you think that the world would of been a better place i Christianity was a philosophy and not a religion, and Jesus was like Siddhartha, just a teacher and not a holy man.

You find error in Bible. You say that in Bible God told us that he created light before sun and moon. But you should no that scientists
were always wrong. They modified. Scientists believe that the sun revolves around the earth. Then they change their mind. Actually,
light created before sun and moon will be proved in future. we just lack the technology to prove that. So, every contradiction in Bible which is scientific in
nature is just apparent.

Classical Mechanics was faulty. So, they invented General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.
It's faulty--so they invented String Theory which still is metaphysics.
The problem is their faulty assumptions. The scientists should study Bible first to construct real scientific theory. And also creat Biblical Mathematics. They were wrong when they believed in Darwin's theory. Now realizing that Biblical Creationist theory is the reality.
You say according to Bible--bat is a bird. Why bat is not a bird?
Modern Genetics will prove it.

I have seen a new way of Spelling Christian "Xian".Does this offend you in any way some people use it just for a short way of spelling Christian, others because they do not agree with Jesus being the Christ others just out of disrespect. It seems odd how every one (no matter what they Believe) will push tolerance, then they make up a New from of Intolerance...(Yes I know for some it is just a shorthand but you dont see others changing the way you spell Islam, Jew Or other religions?)...Do you think that this will catch on like the 'Xmas" thing did?

Please Answer Like Respectful Adults thank you.....

I have noticed that alot of the older population of the congregation will not stand or sing along when very contemporary hymns are sung. These are generally accompanied by guitar and drums. They just sit there and look really pissed off. Can you give me any opinions on why that is?

I mean, don't people have a chose as to what they listen to or read? If someone is talking to you about something you don't want to hear can't you tell them you not interested and leave you alone? If someone is preaching on TV, can't you turn the channel? If someone post a question on Yahoo! Answers, no one is forcing you to read it. I haven't seen any Christians walking up to people at gun point so they are not forcing anything on you that you don't allow. I didn't become a Christian until I was about 19 or 20 and I never had a problem with Christians "forcing" anything on me cuz I let them know I didn't want to be bothered. So, can someone tell me how Christian beliefs can be forced on them.

2006-08-09 09:27:29 · 16 answers · asked by Anonymous

After all, so many people in the world do not like jews (not me, I am not anti-semitic) that maybe the time has come for the jews to do a self assesment. For example, if I was having problems at work with everybody that was not in my department, even if I preceived myself to have done everything great and perfect, I would have to change my ways in order to stabilize my work environment. Isn't it time that jewish people start saying to themselves, maybe WE ARE doing something wrong here. How could it be possible that jews have done nothing wrong throughout history, and yet so many people still hate them?
