I'm looking at my life now, and traditional religion isnt working for me. My life is a wreck, and it seems that all of these general suggestions of "Trust in God....", "Everything is in his hands.....", "Everything happens for a reason....." doesnt hold a lot of weight for the answers that I need in life.

Scientology seems to have a philosophical viewpoint on building up your self esteem and seems to actually focus on "Manufacturing" individuals who live better lives.

I'm uncertain about steering away from God and his ways, but it seems that this organization has the answers that I need to pull me out of this depression and dire outlook that I have on life.

I believe that God created us to do 100 times the ammount that we even think is capable of doing and I think that taking a step towards this organization that will help me.

Is it asking too much to not want to "settle" for what will feel like a consolation prize especially if that prize may lie at least in part on co-dependence?
I try to explain that I'm not looking for "perfection", that's usually a pipe dream anyway, it's just that there are things (that I consider to be of the "non-superficial" variety) which I feel would compromise my personal standards and that's something that would make it hard to live with myself and therefore likely hard on the other person as well so I opt for limited or non-involvement with some people (including [if not especially...] some siblings).
So does that make me a bad person???
"I" don't think so, I just think it's my way of weeding the garden that is my life and freeing it from the bonds of an emotional oppression that would stifle, if not suffocate, that part of me that makes me what I am at my core.
It makes no sense to sow seeds of contention but rather to promote the growth of things more spiritual, ya think?

...tortures forever and ever?
The Bible says He does it Instantly and the results are eternal, they can never come back or have a second chance.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 - And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

I tried to make this question clearer as everyone seemed to misunderstand the last one.

I am not a christian but to me it just means that they are apologizing for things that they can't explain.

If it isn't to be taken literally was god lieing.

Furthermore, why do you believe Jesus being the son of god is not metaphoric.. in other words how do you choose what is metaphoric and what is literal

This includes those of you who like to play word games and say that your superstition is not a religion, but a relationship with Jesus, Allah, Buddha, or whoever. And to those who like to say that your religion isn't a religion, but is spirituality.

...that Atheists are close minded. Okay, I can understand where you might find this to be so (although I would have to argue the fact.)
I wonder...is not beleif in Christianity a close minded thing as well? I mean, if I am close minded for not being open to the possibility of your God's existence, then are you not close minded for denying the existence of a thousand other Gods?? I realize that your Book says there are no other gods, etc etc. But put the book aside and answer honestly - is not the following of a religion that states it is the only true religion just as close minded as refusing to beleive in any religion at all??? Are we equally close-minded? Maybe if you understood why you deny the existence of all other Gods, you might start to understand why we deny the existence of your God?

I think it's inspiring to read the TESTIMONIES of Christians. Would you give your testimony so I can read them?

MY TESTIMONY:
I was saved as a young girl at the age of 13 and was baptized by my first pastor in a small church of no more than 50 people at the time. I attend the same church I attended that day and we have grown to an astonishing size of over 600 MEMBERS! God is great!

I grew up in a good Christian home with a God fearing Father and Mother who taught me the difference between right and wrong. I had my spells with I would misbehave, but I always tried to be an OBEDIENT daughter. Jesus changed my life the day I was saved. I respected my mother more and we didn't fight as often.

God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and we are coming up on our 50th wedding anniversary in a few years! I'd love to hear how Jesus has blessed you in your life and saved you from your past! God Bless!

I have been trying to decifer which religion is right. Christians have told me that Jesus Christ is the Son of God because He fufilled the prophets in the Bible. But I have read comments by some Jewish that they don't believe the prophets were fufilled. Is there any proof of this on behalf of both religions? I would really like to know. Also are there any Christians that converted to Judaism, or any Jews that converted to Christianity, and can you explain why you converted? This would really help clarify some of my confusion. I want to believe what is right, but both religions seem right. Thanks

We all know beyond a reasonable doubt that mutation occurs. How many of you have seen a newborn child with a deformity? Wouldnt it be easier to change the term evolution to mutation? Anf by the way, who said God didnt take millions of years to produce his creation? God DID NOT write the bible! Early man did! What would have been Gods reason to create dinosaurs? Were these bones simply manufactured and planted by early atheists?
