No, because that would still make them theists (Deists more precisely).

I don't wholly consider myself an atheist, because there is actually a church of atheism (?!) and I don't care for their doctrines. But I do believe in....something....not a god that sits there and decides our fates, but rather some unifying force of nature that brings order to the universe and our own lives. I think it is just another force of nature something like gravity only we have not figured out how to measure it, or its rules. It's definitely somehow tied into the collective unconscious, and I think it may be what we know as dark energy - which scientists can't explain, and yet they say it makes up 2/3 of the energy and 1/3 of the matter in the universe.

I don't "believe" in any super being, but I don't adamantly argue against the existence of one, either. For all I know, the universe is positively packed wall-to-wall with supreme beings all fighting for control over us lowly human thingies, but I somehow doubt it. The very thought of a being that is powerful enough to create life, yet longs for worship and adoration from those life-forms, seems like a perversion of nature.

The word atheist literally means "without god." There isn't a single atheist who believes in ANY sort of supreme being.

That would be a deist...so no. There are atheist who believe in a spiritual force but no supreme being...Buddhists are an example.

There may be some who came to believe that, but then you couldn't call them an atheist anymore.

Being an atheist implies that you cannot believe that. Thats like asking if there are Catholics that don't belive in God.

You mean like pantheists? I know about one in the atheist/agnostic forums at about.com. He's known as Eljay. I don't see how he's an atheist when the cosmos is his god, but they accept him well in that forum.
