Because some of them have not understood the concept of tolerance and acceptance. Anything that conflicts with what they believe is not necessarily wrong, it is simply different.
To be truly Christ like, at least to me, would mean being tolerant, unconditional love, acceptance rather than condemnation. Inclusiveness not exclusion.
If we fail to get past extreme polar views, and never accept that which is different we will never get along in this world. I agree with you, I do not allow anger to replace sound thinking.
Oh, btw, I am a reverend, but more of a free thinker who embraces everyone. We all have value and we all are different, no need to try to change others, try to accept them instead of molding them into who you think they should be.

Christians get angry for the same reasons any person no matter what they believe. Being a Christian doesn't make a person any better than anyone else nor does it mean that as Christians they do not suffer from the same issues that anyone else does. I am sure there are many reasons why Christians can become so easily angered, and I can guarntee they are similar to reasons an athiest, islamist, buddhist, hinduist, agnostic or any other person can become angered. There is nothing wrong with anger as long as it is just. Even Jesus became angry, its when that anger is done for unjust reasons that we are in danger of breaking the commandment that "thou shalt not commit murder" because Jesus defines that we can commit murder in our hearts if we have unjust anger towards another.
I am glad that you have been able to prevent yourself from becoming filled with anger and my hope is that any Christian who has been born-again has been changed by God to have a more compassionate heart even and especially towards those that do not agree with them because it is not for us to argue with people but to present people with the truth while God tugs at their heart and changes them from within based on the truth that has been presented.

B/c too many Christians have the "I'm right, you're wrong, and I'll convert you if it's the last thing I do" mentality. I used to be like that. It's just b/c we don't agree and Christians think souls depend on whether or not people agree with them. Remind them that some of the fruits of the spirit are peace, patience, and self-control. Galations 5:22-23 i believe.

I don't think you have met the right ones and also many Christians are up tight almost as if it is a sin to have fun. I enjoy being saved and I allow the joy of the Lord to be my strength, even when I feel as if I want to burst into tears because of trials and tribulations, it is then that through the Lord I am able to smile more. We as Christians must be excited about Jesus and learn to Show others Love no matter what they believe.

I agree that some Christians do. I think it's just because they are so passionate about there faith that anything they hear that doesn't agree with it becomes completely ludicrous to them, and the won't hear of it. I'm a Christian too and sometimes when I hear others beliefs that are so far from my own I feel a little attacked like they are implying that I'm so naive to believe in God. Then I remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion and instead try to see from their point of view. If you want people to respect our ideas as believers then we should respect theirs also.

Good for you. I think a lot of Christians are so set in their beliefs that they're afraid it would be sinful to have a liberated point of view about anything else. I've wondered about this myself. I don't go to church but I do believe in God, but my whole family is Christian, and you're not allowed to have an opinion about anything else around them.

It isn't really Christians that seem this way, its human nature. Its extremely rare to find a person who finds love to know that their beliefs are dumb or wrong. I admire your ability to handle those situations and understand a bigger picture. Just my opinion, but the purpose of religion is to build a community and strength in supporting each other for the best of humanity. Your ability to react more passively will greatly aid you helping others if you choose to do so.

It could be a spirit of anger or rage, common today, that 's been accepted as part of the personality. But, more likely, it's just the old carnal nature that hasn't yet been co-crucified.

I commend you on your composure.
But most people adopt religion out of a sense of fear.
This leaves one predisposed to anger when the source of comfort is challenged.
Im very happy you arent so.

Not only Christians but any radical gets angry when someone opposes them because they are afraid of anything that is different from their belief. In other words they have no logic or rationale.
