Can we, in the modern world, just all get along? Shouldn't the benefits of modern medicine and technologies like the internet give us an everlasting peace, to be in service and excellence to one another?

Last night, I asked people to pray, and ask themselves if they are their brothers keeper. Some apparently took offense to this, so I ask again, what do I gain by driving you from your faith? I would think that trying to send you deeper into it, and give you the tools to see that Christ's message was one of Brotherhood, peace and tolerance would be the right thing to do. Please correct me if I am wrong, I am sure it would be easier for me to post the same ignorant babble that is posted by most ie (Was Jesus a Homo?)

Getting beyond the differences we are all too familiar with between religions (and most philosophies), anyone who is truly awake, honest and loving must experience the truth ot there only being the possibility of one true creator (the Universe is no illusion or matter of opinion). Could it be that those in power with their greed and lust keep feeding this madness of strife, prejudice, superiority, hatred and war?

Since its a well known fact that Jefferson himself was not christian and that despite many opinon's most of the founding fathers were not christian in the modern sense.

The question is, why do people assume because founders were religious, that they were christian, despite the reality that there is plenty of letters & information that proves otherwise.

Jefferson, Franklin,Lincoln were not christian but were in their own way among the most religious.
And in all 3 cases better men than most christians anyway.

Is it ignorance or plain & simple denial of reality.

But then many people actually believe Washington chopped down a cherry tree when it fact it was a myth created by Washington shortly after his death to demostrte Washington's honesty. (Which btw though he was a honest man, he didnt always tell the truth).

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (New King James Version)

According to a plain reading of this, this is saying to me that anyone who is homosexual is immediately disqualified from going to heaven. Is this a correct reading of these verses or is there something more to it? Because I'm reading and it says homosexuals won't go to heaven, and it says that the group that will is "were" specifically use of the word "were" in v 11.

A serious question, we do owe alot of our modern technology, literature, movies and knowledge from these groups.
Heck, even the christian religion was founded by mystic teachings.
Just curious

Do you base this on Leviticus 18:22's use of the word abomination? What about Leviticus 11:9-12 which says eating shrimp is an abomination? Do you believe Jesus did away with the old laws? If so, does this mean homosexuality is no longer an abomination?

If you tell me these were dietary laws that were there when people were in the desert and quote to me Matthew 15 where Jesus reversed the dietary restrictions, did something change in food preparation when Jesus was alive? Did they get ovens and stoves and were able to properly cook the shrimp?
See, if it was just a rule about food preparation, it wouldn't make sense for Jesus to reverse it, would it?
