When the blind lead the blind both will fall into a ditch.
Religion is man made. Man is fallible. When you blindly follow what another person tells you about God without finding anything out for yourself then you are actually believing in that person not God. And that person is subject to all the emotions of mankind including fear, anger, hate and jealousy.
God is love. Keep your eye on God. Learn about Him for yourself by reading His Word to you - the Bible. When in doubt, find out. It's okay to ask others what their opinion is, but always verify it for yourself.
All the best to you.

The problem is religion is never content to minister to just its own flock. It reaches out to minister to people who for their own reasons are not interested in being ministered to. It tries to control what books and magazines they can read, what they can see on TV and hear on radio and the CDs they buy, even what sexual positions they can use and with whom they can use them. Some people consider religion corrupt and hypocritical--the TV evangelists taking in million$ and living in lavish posh elegant mansions so totally against what Jesus preached about taking care of the poor and by the way not ripping off God. Also, the way churches feel justified in collecting a tax exemption that requires them to be non political, but then being political anyway--as if they do not even need to obey laws designed to benefit them.

The earliest wars that were recorded were wars between religious groups. Thus, one religious group hated another. However, the religion isn't hated. It was something else that started the war.
Most people don't hate religion they just don't like getting up early on Sunday to go to church

**** happens. It's not always about religion. people tend to fight with each other from time to time. The Israel war is about Lebanon sending in suicide bombers and killing their people. I'd wage war over that too. (although it did take having a few of their troops captured to make it a "big" deal, that I don't understand.) I support Israel, not because of religion, but because Lebanon should be held responsible for their actions and the actions of their so called "military forces"

I dont think people hate religion. I think man has taken God out of a lot of things and came up with a lot of traditions that has nothing to do with Gods. People are just tired of not being feed the truth and are hungry for knowledge. If you tease them over and over again instead of just giving it to them they will eventually give up on it all together. More and more people are spiritual but not religious. Meaning they have a relationship with God but they aren't into the man-made rituals that was passed from church to church ... and preacher to preacher. If its not in the bible why are we being beat over the head to do it? Plus a lot of stuff being teached seems a bit manipulative to make people feel guilty. I have been told that if you dont go to church your going to hell. Where in the bible does it say that? The people are the church so if I get the word at Walmart what difference does it make where I'm standing? But thats just me.

I don't hate religion, I hate people trying to force their beliefs on me...Their feelings on the way someone dresses or their belief being wrong, or abortion, or pornography. If you don't like those things, then fine. I am not out there dragging you into a strip club, or adult book store, or an abortion clinic, or forcing you to watch anything on TV, if you don't like what I am looking at or doing, shut up and walk away, change the channel. I am not going into your church with a playboy and sitting in the pew and reading it.

I don't think anybody really can hate religion per se, if they do not know what religion is, I think they just hate dogma and fanaticism. Religion, like love and friendship are necessary feelings and beliefs for the human soul to survive.
If a person rejects religion, that person is also embracing a belief, the "no-religion belief" is his or her religion!
Funny how God's way to give us hope always find its target, don't you think?

I don't hate religion I just don't like it crammed down my throat. Or when it causes wars, or interferes with government or when someone thinks their religion is the only religion. Just causes too many problems. My relationship with my god is a personal thing and does'nt need to be plastered on billboards or bumper stickers.

I like your avatar. Is that really you? You're a very handsome young man!
Oh, religion. That's something that gives me pleasure. I go to church and it makes me feel special and superior to other people, especially the heathens. Then, because I know the Bible, I can get on Yahoo Answers and tell people how stupid and immoral they are being. It all gives me great satisfaction.
I'd like to give you a little religion you heathen!

I don't hate religion, the catholic and christian religions as well as other bible related ones, yes, but that is only because all of my life it has been forced on me, and thus I moved away from it and it is still trying to be forced on me by people I don't know. But other than my hatered of the bible religions, I still tolerate it, as well as other religions, in fact, I don't really care what religion people are as long as they don't try to force it on me, if I don't ask questions about it, then I don't necissarily want to know about it at all.
