A serious question, we do owe alot of our modern technology, literature, movies and knowledge from these groups.
Heck, even the christian religion was founded by mystic teachings.
Just curious

Yes, mystics have played an important role throughout the history of Christianity. But, wonder of wonders!, mystics have been and are the most revolutionaries and avant garde exponents of the Christian faith. They're disliked and shunned by the central powers of the Christian business (Vatican, US TV channels, etc.).

Christianity likes mystics? Founded on mysticism? Curious. Why were the early scientists all Christians, the greatest universities(Harvard, Yale and Princeton) founded by Christians. All or most of all the first hospitals founded by Christians. Mysticism has very little to do with Christianity. The early Christians were realists, and lovers of humanity, more so than atheists or any other group. Unfortunately, Christianity has been compromised by alien doctrines, as what happened in the early church, Gnosticism. Gnosticism is an insidious lie, that perverts the truth of Jesus. John com batted it in John 1:1-3, God was the Word. As well as Paul in Colossians in the great Christological passage 1:14-18, and 2:8 "vain philosophy" is reference to Gnosticism.

You know that is a great point, and question because after all, the bible (revelations) is a book of predictions in a way.
Alot of Christians have expressed to me that mystic types scare them and they believe that they are the work of satan, but that theory doesn't seem logical.
I consider myself to have Christian values, but am not what I call a "hardcore" Christian and I do believe in mystics. I feel like it has been proven to me in a very not threatening way.

No, because they only feel that being prophetic, or mystic, was permissive in the time Our Lord was on this Earth; however, true bible prophecy indicates that what ever has been done is already written and we now are merely on a certain place on the timeline/place scenario, therefore, it is not against the Bible to be prophetic even if the Bible thumpers say you are.

There are certain sub-sects of Christianity that still consider themselves mystical traditions. Here's some reading that shares more about this concept:
