Abraham was not praying, read the entire passage. God was talking to Abraham and Abraham fell down on his face out of fear and respect.

Additionaly, Abraham was a man just like us--not everything he did was perfect. But Jesus was perfect, and he explained to the full extent how to pray.

Yes, Abraham Prostrates just as we Muslims do... Abraham is one of the Great Prophet of God (Allah)... In fact most of the Prophets of God Prostrates like we do... Not even Prophets but even some Christians who understand the concept of their religion very well, can you remember Pope John Paul kneeling and facing his faces down when ever he comes out from Plane? He also know the truth... but he betray MANY... May Allah guide them to the right path>>>ISLAM...

Grace unto you and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Correction: it's "Abram" who did this, not Abraham. "Abraham" is in Genesis 17:5. It is notably "Abraham" that is mentioned in Gal 4, which notes the two sons of "Abraham", by two mothers, "are" the two covenants, which (law/grace) things "are" an "allegory" (a story with a moral, whereby people and things have another meaning, found only by seek & find the allegory clues).

Yet "Abraham" is also listed in the hall of shame (not fame) of Hebrews 11, which notes: "these all DIED" and "received NOT the promise". For the promise(eternal life) comes after doing the will of God. And only "Christ" of "Jesus Christ" did the will of God: "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice", which meaneth I will have grace, and not law: Ps 40:6;ps 51;16; Hos 6:6; Mt 9:13; Mt 12:7; Heb 10:all; and the "not" part is not then, not now, not ever. Christ(of J->C) is 'the seed", and "the end of the law", our "peace" who hath abolished the law(enmity).

To "wit": "that God" (is light void of darkness) was in "Christ" (not in Abraham, nor in seeds of Abraham) reconciling the world unto himself(the God of all grace), not (law)imputing their trespasses unto them.

POINT: "Grace is sufficient" meaneth no law at all req'd.

The "grace"(only) of our Lord Jesus->Christ with you all. Amen.

The followers of Islam ofcourse descended from Abraham and follow his praying manners.

God will not mind if we all pray like Abraham - as long as we pray!

You can pray while jumping up and down on one foot but if your not born again through Jesus and not living right it wont do any good. They way you pray dosent matter. What matters is your spiritual condition.

Just wanted to add that I "DO " pray like that sometimes but its not a big deal and doesnt mean Gods ears hear me any better because of my pose.

Muslims have faith that the observe of God (e.g. the Torah) were sent down in the time of the an prolonged time by using countless messengers (i.e. prophets like Abraham and Jesus), in spite of the shown fact that it were altered by using guy. Islam became an ideal faith whilst the final prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) gained the observe of God - the marvelous, unaltered sequence is the Qu'ran. interior the era in the previous the Qu'ran grew to become into revealed to Muhammed (peace be upon him), Muslims nevertheless have faith that the prophets sent in the previous him have been sent by using the comparable God (Allah). it quite is, we've faith Abraham (as with the others) grew to become into Muslim too besides the reality that Islam wasn't an ideal faith for the time of that element. The Qu'ran is a holy e book which prescribes the code of habit for all Muslims. ideally, all Muslims might desire to try in the direction of maximum appropriate lives in accordance to the Qu'ran and the movements (alongside with prayer) of prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him).

People in the past(who believed in God),with the prophets, used to pray like that(fall on their faces)..and that way of prayer shows that you submit, surrender, fear, respect and give it up to God.
But when we muslims say that Ibraham(pbuh)used to pray like a muslim we mostly also mean that he prayed to one God and no other.
Peace.....!

Gen 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

Gen 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

The world knows that those who pray are the problem today. So I think it is better to get away from that. The more you pray, the more you are cruel. The more you bear religious look, the more you are hypocrite.
