No, you cant serve two masters at the same time, one will definitely suffer.
You choose: serve God or the people? also if u go into politics, it clearly shows you have no faith on God, cuz u believe on human's abilities and power not God's.

Religion had been used to start wars over and over again in history. If you like to keep the control of the army out of "the hands of god", then there should be no religion in politics.

Although you cannot help but bring your own persuasion to bear on the outworking of your public life, the institutional sides of religion ought to be out of the political realm. One thing is to have a religiously informed mentality and other to force that particular religion down the throat of the rest of the population.

Einstein,
Not only shouldn't religion be involved in politics, we shouldn't be involved in religion. Religion, is the training wheels of understanding reality. We are growing up as a species. When we were primitive and uneducated, God used religion as a means of acquainting us with His existence, and our relationship with Him. I think that we have reached a stage in our evolution, where it is time to grow up and deal with God's existence in an adult fashion. We don't need any clergy, to act as intermediaries in our pursuit of God. We don't need a building, or a denomination, to be His children. The Age of Religion, is coming to a close as we speak. The war, that is growing in the middle east, is the Magnum Opus, in the final moments of religious history. When the dust clears, and the bodies have all been disposed of, mankind will have a whole new outlook on the role of religion in our lives. When we come to God as humble children, and invite Him into our lives, He places His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new creatures, part mortal, part Immortal. The old values of materialism and fear, fall away. Love and Wisdom, become the foundation of all our choices. We have embarked on the Path of Eternity, and we will never be the same again. Religion and politics, become irrelevant, to the Ones Who know God as their Father. He is the Source of leadership and power for them. As long as we continue to seek wisdom and leadership from mortals, we shall continue to stumble in the darkness.

Some people confuse religion with spirituality.
I'm not sure how to answer this question, but I do have another question..........
Why is stealing or murdering illegal? Are they not moral rules that can easily be related to spirituality or religion? Why is it illegal to marry more than one person? Again.....isnt' this related to religion?
Many of our laws were made by religious people. Who's to say what's right/wrong.....legal/illegal?
I think most of us today choose what is self-serving.......and then blame it on religion.....or on the mix of religion and politics.

Truth cannot get united with the present world politics. If any religion has association with politics in any country, they are doing so with commercial aims.

There is a very good reason for separation of Church and State. Unfortunately, some presidents and members of congress cannot seem to find the line, which is absolute. They want to blur it lately. This line cannot be blurred. We do NOT need other's religions dictating to the general population. Good luck

There is no way it can't be... everyone's opinions are influenced by their spiritual beliefs or lack thereof. Our opinions affect politics. Now if you are asking if government should endorse certain religions over others, than no... but there is no way to avoid the influence jof religion in politics.

Einstein, you should know that it is nearly impossible to separate them. After all, a major motivator for the founding fathers of this country was oppression of their religion, among other things. And I doubt we were the first.
