It seems idiotic to refuse to belive in Jesus as a historical figure when there are MANY sources, inside and outside of the Bible, that attest to his historicity. Do you also believe that the Revolutionary War never happened? Or the U.S. Civil War?

He might have been a real person, "Son of god"? Not very likely, crazy and insane? Most definatly, but the only reason why I'd ever step foot inside one of those buildings would be to either interview a priest for one of my religious tension stories, gather ideas for settings, or because my mom dragged me there against my will.

There is plenty of literature that is based on fictional people, in fictional places, doing fictional but deeds worthy enough to inspire many or for one to try and imulate.

Not saying that Jesus was fake, but the whole point of the church sermon is to take these ancient stories found in the Bible and reinterpret them so they have value for today's adherent.

Jesus is the God in Christianity ONLY. Why would attending church have anything to do with Jesus otherwise?
