I posted a couple of what I thought would be funny posts the other day with a Christian theme and was amazed to see how serious they were taken. It was supposed to be light and humorous and well, it wasn't received that way. Okay, so I will no longer make posts like that. I'm new to Yahoo! Answers and the religion category in particular so since then I did a good amount of reading of posts in this category and I'm wondering, why are so many people baiting the religious ones? It seems cruel. They believe what they are going to believe and NOTHING is going to change their minds. Not proof, not facts, certainly not insults or opinions. Almost seems like beating a dog that's tied up. What's the appeal in your opinion?

I was born into a Christian home like millions of people out there. Ever wonder about those that are born into a Jewish home, or a muslim home, or a buddhist home....All are equally devoted to their religion and believe that THEIR religion is the correct religiong. It's a puzzling thought.

I received a letter a few days back telling me about my cycle of wealth, etc. which is supposed to begin in a few days. And to send him some money to do a reading or something.

Just yesterday I was watching some program on the television about Psychics and the general impression I got was they were fake.

I would be interested to know if anybody has ever come in contact with this Psychic and what have been their impressions about him.

Thank you.

Just because I'm a Christian and listen to 2Pac you hate me don't you? You think I'm not a real Christian or am I putting words in your mouth?

I've heard prophetic statements like "Araq for Israel!" & "Hesbollah is going down!" Of course that will mean freedom of religion in Iraq & Israel.

If you claim that Atheism is not common sence, it must be super powers

1. We have the power to feel secure without believing in a Skydaddy

2. We have the power to accept death as being the end

3. We have the power to have faith in OURSELVES to get through difficult times

4. We have the power to be good without expecting a reward

5. We have the power to be good without the intimidating threat of going to hell

6. We have the power to accept not knowing without turning to fairy tales

7. We have the power to disagree with the majority

8. We have the power to deal with reality without imaginary assistance

9. We have the power to not need imaginary love

10. We have the power to express how we feel even though we are hated and feared by millions

For god so loved the world, he wanted humans back in heaven with him. however, despite being all powerful, god couldn't let humans into heaven, his hands were tied. but he loved us and was so sad about us all going to hell. so, what to do, what to do?

he noticed his cousin Zeus was always going to earth and mating with earth maidens. Their offspring were often saviors of mankind, and, of course, sons of god. So, God decided to go to earth, impregnate an earth maiden, and produce his own child. Here's the cool part of the plan -God figures out that even tho he has closed heaven to humans, if only God can incite humans to murder his incredible son, humans can slide right under those locked pearly gates in jesus' blood.

yeah, that all makes sense.

don't believe mythology is literally true. it's very bad for your ability to think.

Have you ever seen evil in people? It's scary. I'm a new christian that does not have a Church home, so I apologize for asking all these questions. It's like their face behind their human veil morphs or something, it's freaky. I can also hear bad spirits taunting me when I pass by certain places or homes. I know they can't harm me, so I Ignore them and pray. What else can you do? These things are part of the reason I decided to become a Christian. In my home, I only feel good spirits and peace. I guess they cannot follow you? Only taunt you? Why

1. He merely sacrifice one short weekend out of his eternity to pay for all your sins and mine, Praise God.

2. Would it be easy to sacrifice a million dollars if you knew you would get it back after one weekend? Would that REALLY be a sacrifice?

3. I guess Jesus got the family discount on the price if sin as he only payed one weekend for what will cost you an eternity of non-stop torture.

4. He also got the package deal; instead of having to do it for each of us individually as we have to do it, he only had to do it once and for a short time for ALL of us

For a guy who thinks of himself as "The Bible Answer Man" his answers sure are lame.

Don, here is a tip for you: When answering an atheist, quoting scripture may not be the best way to go.

Actually, I believe that it is entirely possible that he never existed. Don't you find it strange, that out of all the legendary peoople who lived at the time of Christ, Jesus is the only one for which no archaeological eveidence exists?

Why are your answers so lengthy almost as though copying the entire bible or giving a sermon? I don't even bother reading most of them half the time because it is WAY too long. I don't believe anyone wants to read a sermon, just a simple answer.
