Jesus (pbuh) never died (on the cross or naturally) but instead, the person who was crucified was the traitor disciple who told the Roman soldiers about his place. The confusion is clearly stated in the Qur'an in Surah an-Nisa (4) verses 157-158, which also state that Prophet Jesus was raised to Allah. Muslims also believe that Jesus shall come at the end of time to tell the truth, to rule the earth with justice, to fight the anti-Christ, and to die as a human being
In Christianity, the Doctrine of Original Sin is the reason that there is a need for salvation through Jesus' crucifixion. However, this doctrine was invented by Paul and it is strongly negated in the Old Testament (see Ezekial 18:20, Jeremiah 31:30, Deut. 24:16). This doctrine is an attempt to escape the responsibility of righteousness with the belief that punishment is given to someone else to release us from our burden of sins (see Ephesians 1:7, Romans 4:25, 10:9, Corinthians 15:21) In the Qur'an, every soul is responsible for its own deeds, good or bad (see 74:38,41:46, 3:25, 6:154).
Jesus didn't die on the cross nor was he resurrected. If he were resurrected, then he would have come to his disciples in a spiritual body. As shown in Luke 24:36-43, he met them with his physical body after the event of his alleged crucifixion. In the Qur'an, it says that Jesus was not crucified, but it was someone else who was made to look like him (see 4:157,158).
In the Qur'an, the final revelation the only authentic revealed book in the world that has been kept without change, humankind is told that God doesn't adopt or beget a son. You see, the words 'son' and 'God' are mutually exclusive words. 'God' represents One who is All Powerful and who has received life from no one, while 'son' implies one who has received life and is, therefore, limited. There can thus, using simple elementary logic, be none like God and hence, none can claim to be His son in the literal sense of the word. , the term 'son of God' has a metaphorical meaning and is used for every righteous person. The word that was causing all the mischief in JOHN 3:16 was the word 'begotten'. Now the scholars of the New Testament find out that this word was an interpolation. Someone had inserted this into the verse, while it was never present in the most ancient manuscripts.
The word 'begotten' was mis-translated and really meant 'unique'. the geneology of Jesus in LUKE 3:38 where it says that Adam is the son of God. compare Adams' birth with Jesus' birth. Adam came from clay whereas Jesus came from a woman. I would say that Adam, in that sense, is more unique than Jesus.

If you were God, comfortably and eternally enthroned in heaven, with choirs of angels on hand to attend to your every need, what would you think of the idea of becoming a 1st century man, under the heel of the Romans, having to deal with constant threats to yourself and to those whom you loved, working for twenty some years out of a mud hut in Nazareth, which is still one of the most backward and disgusting places in the entire world, all the while knowing that you would experience betrayal, arrest, trial, scourging, crucifixion and death, at the hands of your very own people, most of whom would never even acknowledge you?
It wasn't just a weekend. The entire 33 year human existence of Jesus was a constant, atoning sacrifice for the sins of all men.
One mistake, one sin, and it would have been a total waste. Jesus had to live a flawless, perfect, sinless existence, even to the very moment of his death on the cross. Only then could Satan's power over mankind be destroyed, the power of death be defeated, and our human dignity restored.
And Jesus was indeed, a real man. He suffered real pain, shed real blood, and experienced real death, all the while never ceasing to be God.
Fortunately for you, and for the rest of us, his mission succeeded. No one else could have done it.
Instead of getting down on your knees and thanking God for his most generous, completely voluntary, and personal sacrifice, you have the unmitigated gall to post a question like this one.
Pray that God's mercy exceeds his justice!

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
5 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
only Gen 22:2
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

for god so loved the world, he wanted humans back in heaven with him. however, despite being all powerful, god couldn't let humans into heaven, his hands were tied. but he loved us and was so sad about us all going to hell. so, what to do, what to do?
he noticed his cousin Zeus was always going to earth and mating with earth maidens. Their offspring were often saviors of mankind, and, of course, sons of god. So, God decided to go to earth, impregnate an earth maiden, and produce his own child. Here's the cool part of the plan -God figures out that even tho he has closed heaven to humans, if only God can incite humans to murder his incredible son, humans can slide right under those locked pearly gates in jesus' blood.
yeah, that all makes sense.
don't believe mythology is literally true. it's very bad for your ability to think.

He did. He was nailed on the cross and rose from death on the 3rd day after He died. Would you do the same for anyone who has sinned against you? Think again..Jesus did, for the whole world.

Is it possible that the pain and torture really isn't true? Is it possible that the sacrifice WAS sufficient even though it lased a "weekend"?

The dogma that Jesus "paid for" sin like a financial transaction is dead in the New Jerusalem.
