Lets say you live in one big country, there is only this country and no others. (Twilight zone)
This country has some weird laws. You have been charged with the crime of unfaithfulness. If found guilty you will be executed. Your trial is set for 35 years from now. You are released on you own recognizes tell then. What would you do? Go get drunk, have a party? Or would you study the laws and take it very seriously, because if you are found guilty they take you right out and execute you that hour no appeal.
Yes I take religion very seriously.

I had a great Saturday night out, and now I am happier than before answering these questions. The answer to your question must be the interpretation of the written word!
What we write down, that always seems more serious than the same thing when only spoken into the air. They read it and they think it is dead serious --- hard to find the second meaning what you were thinking behind your words. Don't forget that we don't see your mimics and smiles..... unless you put a :-) there!

You can only enjoy Life if you have accepted Jesus as your savior. This life is short and temporary. We are supposed to be preparing our souls for our eternal life here after. Where people spend it is up to them. And it is a very serious topic and not to be taken lightly. I'm going to heaven through salvation and acceptance of Jesus as my savior. Do you know where your going. Dont' laugh, it' a serious question with very serious consequences.

It's just their preference...
Not everyone does... some do and some don't... Be careful not to make generalizations.
Some people just have a serious personality... there isn't anything wrong with that really... it's just how they want to be...

Because the last 3 generations have been raised on mindless sitcoms on TV and they totally LACK any sense of Humor... to be funny to them, something or someone has to be destroyed. These lost generations really DON'T KNOW what is fully.!

I agree that life is too short to be serious all the time, however it seems that sometimes people don't know the time and place.
