Moon worship has been practiced in Arabia since 2000 BC. The crescent moon is the most common symbol of this pagan moon worship as far back as 2000 BC. In Mecca, there was a god named Hubal who was Lord of the Kabah. This Hubal was a moon god. One Muslim apologist confessed that the idol of moon god Hubal was placed upon the roof of the Kaba about 400 years before Muhammad. This may in fact be the origin of why the crescent moon is on top of every minaret at the Kaba today and the central symbol of Islam atop of every mosque throughout the world. About four hundred years before the birth of Muhammad one Amr bin Lahyo a descendant of Qahtan and king of Hijaz, had put an idol called Hubal on the roof of the Kaba. This was one of the chief deities of the Quraish before Islam. The moon god was also referred to as "al-ilah". al-ilah was later shortened to Allah before Muhammad began promoting his new religion in 610 AD. Although Islam is today a monotheist religion its roots are in paganism.

I've been reading 1 Corinthians 13, the famous passage about love ("Love is patient, love is kind, etc."). It's a great passage, but how does one practice this without being a pushover or a doormat? Any ideas about this? Thanks.

The pagan Arabs worshipped the Moon-god Allah by praying toward Mecca several times a day; making a pilgrimage to Mecca; running around the temple of the Moon-god called the Kabah; kissing the black stone; killing an animal in sacrifice to the Moon-god; throwing stones at the devil; fasting for the month which begins and ends with the crescent moon; giving alms to the poor, etc. The God Il or Ilah was originally a phase of the Moon God." The Moon-god was called al-ilah, i.e. the god, which was shortened to Allah in pre-Islamic times. The Crescent moon and star on alot of muslim flags is in reference to this ie Turkey, Pakistan, Tunisia.

Christians Read this~?
Why do we try so hard to change other people, show them the righteous way. We Judge others, call them homosexuals, liberals, ungodly. You know who you are. But when someone looks into your character and find a worse sin, you tell them "who are u to judge" Lets look into ourselves. Where is the love and undying compassion that jesus tought us. Where is the tolerance and grace that we admire and serves as the roadmap to our beliefs.
Lets stop to criticize others. LEts stop looking at the Homosexuals, and Muslims, the liberals and the ungodly as enemies. LEts take the plank out of our own eyes and fallow jesus the way he intended. Lets treat everyone with Love and compassion. Only in this way will we be able to make a real change. Lets start being the light that jesus wanted us to be. Lets be an example to all and then with love can we help them overcome their shortcomings. This is the way it must be, lets start our mission to bring to all Gods Kingdom!

Just read the answers from my last question and answer me this. Im seeking God and Jesus and you " christians " are the ones that faithfully put the best insults on my question. You insult me, spank me, call me names, and mock me with ur inferences that im on drugs. instead of sending me to God you send me to a psychiatrist ? Why shouldnt I go be a freaking pagan and live in some hindu commune ? Is this the Jesus you represent ? is He like you ? Thats frigin' scary. I think He loves me and even likes me even though you falsely come to me and insult and accuse me. You guys testify to why I should never set foot in a church again for the rest of my frigging life. Coz you are in there !

After death, If we can get attached to the physical or to lower levels, is their a restart button? Or do we have to wait for the higher us to come and find us by showing an alternate reality system previously unkown to us. Please, this isn't a judgement day or rapture question. Also, why was this existence so worth having?

Bertrand Russell, Mathematician and Philosopher, stated:

"Religions, which condemn the pleasures of sense, drive men to seek the pleasures of power. Throughout history power has been the vice of the ascetic."

Your thoughts on this please?

I'm a true follower of Christ, but this question has been puzzling my dad and i was wondering how to explain it better to him. The question is:

If God loves us all unconditionally, why are many people not saved?

Let's say I felt I was a victim here. When I died and all I saw was complete darkness it would certainly be a hell. What if I believed that I could influence the world around me and contribute? Would that darkness be like an empty canvas for my thoughts to be instantly manifested into my creation? ;) Your thoughts?

in Matthew 12:40, Jesus said: "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Let's see, buried on a Friday....one night. Dead all day Saturday, two nights. Rose from the dead Sunday Morning......ooops, no more nights.

Was Jesus mistaken, or did he lie when he said he would be buried for three nights?

If we say Jesus is God, and hell is an "absence of God" but in the creed it says "he descended into hell"... Either hell was destroyed when Jesus showed up there or Jesus ceased to be God and there were just two in the Trinity at that time. I don't expect The Truth in your answers as it is all part of a mystery, but has anyone else ever thought about it?
