Intelligent Design is NOT a scientific theory in any way, shape, or form. It cannot be tested or falsified. This doesn't mean you can't believe it to be true. That's fine. But it is an absolutely impotent contention in the realm of science. This is why it should never be taught in public schools as "science".
But yeah, an "alien designer". That's cute too. I think the premise would make for a better science fiction novel than a scientific theory.

Theoretically the concept of "intelligent design" does not imply a divine intelligence, but simply some form of intelligence beyond our current understanding ... be it divine, spiritual, extra-terrestrial.
The problem is fairly simple ... the people trying to push intelligent design as a theory are only doing so as a wolf-in-sheep's-clothing gesture ... pushing their creationist ideologies under new guise.
And they'd likely take great offense to the teaching of aliens and non-Christian entities as equally likely to the Christian diety in the act of creation ... so ...

Creation is a fact.Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gods word is settled in heaven.
Evolution is a unproven theory-No where in fossil history is there a fossil
changing a dog skull into a rabbit.Bio genetics ,cats have cats, dogs have dogs and on and on.
The children are being force feed lies and someday will be to late to
teach the truth.

Evolution is taught as FACT in public schools. Very rarely is the word theory tacked on. Evolution is not science, it is commonly mixed in with true science however to give it attempted creedence. Teach truth., and theres no such thing as YOUR truth and MY truth. Truth is universal. Try finding a place where 1+1 doesnt = 2. Good luck.

It would seem to me , Parents should be the Teachers of something as Cultural as their Faith.
And that any Theory's, that cannot be proved ,that might cross any line of faith ,should not be taught in Public Schools.
As Tax Payers,& Parents we do not want some Darwin Theory," yet unproven" and likely never will be, to teach our Children ,their Parents are incorrect in their beliefs, Faith should be taught in the Home. and not forced on any one. even those with the Darwin Faith should be kept out of Child hood teaching. save it for College. and then teach all Theorys.

i would rather die than see intelligent design taught as science in any school.
its NOT science. science is based on observation. not throwing up your arms saying, "its so complicated there MUST be a creator!"
that's not the scientific method.
that said, aliens would make the whole thing more realistic. i'm more apt to believe that aliens made us than god. that we're just their experiment.

Aliens are not meta-physical beings, that is, they must trace their origins to the origin of the universe but the concept of God goes beyond what is physical. That's why it is called God because HE is what caused the universe to begin. He is outside the universe. We can possibly ponder that humans were not created directly by God but through intermediate intelligent beings but ultimately, we are attributing the creation of everything, including those who may have created us, to that ONE ULTIMATE BEING we call God.

You could, but that would not go with the fundamentalist christian agenda of the IDers.
It is just a guise to put creationism under a new name, to include aliens would ruin the whole thing...
Oh and yeah, its not science - it's straight back into the realm of faith.

I think the schools should stick to teaching the subjects that are relevant to earning a living. And leave the doctrines of creation/evolution to the child's parents.
The debate is just a waste of everyones time.

It still will not give any validity to this trojan horse they diguise as 'science'. ID has no place in school curriculum unless it is in a mythology class paralleled by other cultures origin myths.
