yea there is...
In our everyday experience, just about everything seems to have a beginning. In fact, the laws of science show that even things which look the same through our lifetime, like the sun and other stars, are running down. The sun is using up its fuel at millions of tonnes each second—since, therefore, it cannot last forever, it had to have a beginning. The same can be shown to be true for the entire universe.
So when Christians claim that the God of the Bible created the entire universe, some will ask what seems a logical question, namely ‘Where did God come from?’
The Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside of time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end—He is infinite! He also knows all things, being infinitely intelligent.1
Is this logical? Can modern science allow for such a notion? And how could you recognize the evidence for an intelligent Creator
'Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God' (Psalm 90:2b)
God is infinite—He has no beginning (He was never born) and He has no end (He can never die). He is the eternal Creator of all things—space, matter, and even time itself.
i don't know whether this makes sense to you..
i'll keep praying for you...

The answer to your question is all around you, Jeremy. Yes, there truly is a God. Look at life on this earth. There are so many different intricacies and complexities in life. Take earth for example; if the earth were to be tilted a few more degrees toward the sun, the planet would be to hot to support life. If the earth were tilted a few degrees away from the sun, the planet would be too cold to support life.
Look at how all of the planets and moons within our own solar system all rotate in their own orbits, and never collide. If the timing of these orbits were off any at all, there would be total chaos to say the very least within the solar system.
Do you really honestly think all of these things all happened by some evolutionary process or by some big bang? I THINK NOT!!!
A group of engineers came together about 5 years ago and tried to determine what it would take to build an eye, in the hopes of curing blindness. These engineers discovered it would take an integrated circuit chip 11,000 square inches in size, 3 days to take in and translate information that could be used to create an image for a wearer of this chip. The human eye does this in billionths of seconds.
Jeremy in conclusion, as I observe life as it exists, and has existed for so many years, there is just simply no way except for by God could we be here or any other life form could be here. Even the laws of gravity and nature had to have been created by a higher authority. These things didn't just happen by accident or even by a series of chemical reactions over millions of years. Clearly there is a design at work here, meaning there also had to be a designer.

I think so;
The scientific method:
Null hypothesis: God might exist.
Hypothesis: God does not exist.
Create an experiment which proves God does not exist.
Using the same technique historians used, the historical accounts of much of the bible (old and new testament) test positive for good history. Most of the rest can be easily defended by philosophers as distinctly correct. Because of its age and the advanced nature of the ideology it is generaly considered divinely inspired.

Jeremy - I have entered this a little late! 45 answers already!
As the race of Mankind, we have been, in spirit, too long separated from the Father and no longer know Him. Spirit can not be seen - and knowledge has been forgotten. Do you understand that Jesus teaches so as to remind you, simply, of what you have only forgotten? That's why relationship with Him is so important. God is in the memory of your spirit-mind.
When I became a teacher, Jesus channeled to me the following:
"I came for your remembrance of the Father - whose attributes I embody. If you hunger for Me you are truly hungry for Him. Let Me feed you. . ."
Don't let anyone tell you your Creator must be present to you through FAITH only! Faith is NOT even an end result to be achieved! We deserve much more and much better than that! Between Belief and Knowing lies faith. An intermediary step.
To have belief means you "think so. This is my belief." It's subject to change! Anyone can convince another to change, or alter their belief in things. But to KNOW. . .implies Certainty.
Faith is a tool that helps you "hang in there" when your eyes and your experience are telling you something you don't care for. It does teach patience - faith - patience to carry you forward to the conclusion of Certainty. WHEN Jesus and the Holy Spirit in partnership, and partnered with you, can PRODUCE an experience of what you have asked for, or changed something for you, or shown you something you never believed before existed, you leap to Certainty. Faith no longer required. To KNOW is unshakeable. Faith is behind you!
"A Course in Miracles" will lead you to experiences. You'll find out if there is a loving Father. Unseen, Jesus will sit with you and explain what you have read. What He says will be heard by you in your head. You will come to know He is still working and alive in Spirit. The book is in some bookstores, sold on the Internet or sent to you directly by the Foundation that prints the book, reached at 415/388-2060. Also, the Los Angeles Public Library has a videorecording and hardback edition. Find God, Jeremy. Reunite!

No, the theory of God was used as a scare tatic and a way to extort money from people in the old days as well as the current days. Some people will believe anything.

I'm just going to let you know what the Bible says about God,Romans Chaper one vs 19 because what may be known about God is manifest among them, for God make it manifest to them. 20 For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusible. Exodus 34:6 And Jehovah went passing before his face,[Moses] and declaring, "Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving-kindnessand truth, 7 preseving loving-kindness for thousands, pardoning error and transgression and sin, but by no means will he give exemption from punishment, [ if deserved]

God is ethereal, we all know that. I'm agnostic, so I sure do have a say in this. Why haven't we found him, really? I mean, we've been searching for years and we have no clue. Does he really have the power to stand beside you and guide your path? That's why we make mistakes, if God was here, we all wouldn't make a mistake in life. Isn't that right?
