..then they die in the next few minutes without committing a sin are they automatically pass-ported into the heaven that their new faith decrees?

Or are such conversions worthless?

Lets assume that the new faith (whichever one it is) is a genuine bona fide deal

and caucasians, but not blacks (almost always)? Is this part of the retribution for slavery, just like letting American Indians open casinos? I'd appreciate serious and respectful insight only. I am NOT a racist, and I put up with a lot of it growing up. If you need to know, I am Taiwanese-American, and I have been in the US all of my life.

Ok, I know this is REALLY, REALLY off-topic and “off-section”, but since I think the people here rock- I’m asking it on here anyway! :-)

So, here in St. Petersburg Russia it is already January 1st, 2008. I can foresee myself not getting any sleep at all tonight, seeing the whole hostel is either partying and/or drunk, so I guess I’ll spend the night here on Y!A.

Oh-the question! How much longer till you guys “catch up”???

It might be the case that, not that many people openly practise racism, even in the south but there are some remains when it comes to business and wealth. I heard California and Washington state don't suffer much from racism I want to move from the south to states where I can grow financially without getting a strange look. So are those two states indeed ideal for minorities?

Suppose a beast came out of the sea with 7 heads and 10 horns, the mouth of a lion, and the feet of a bear. Suppose additionally that a second beast came out of the earth and had "two horns like a lamb and spake like a dragon" (Revelation 13:11). Suppose that second beast demanded that you worship the first beast.

Would be apprehensive, or would you just go along with it? Would you think that maybe the prophecy is coming true?

If God wanted those people to believe, don't you think he would have shown some sign other than stories in the Bible?

Like go make all Atheists start to simultaneously see some sort of image of something that would make them believe? And for the ones that just think they hallucinated like suddenly ???

But don’t you think he would do something or say something to help people believe?
Like I tried talking to god, and he’s a good listener because he never answered me. It’s about like talking to your pillow and hoping it will talk back. God never helped some of my sick family members get better even after they prayed to him all night and day for a miracle that never came.

This has been bothering me since it happened at my boyfriend's family's Christmas party on Christmas Eve.

My bf and I have been dating for almost 2 years and I know his family well. He has one aunt who is very annoying and extremely nosey (we'll call her Aunt P).

At the Christmas party, the cousins pass around an adorable family picture taken the day before. At this, someone gets the idea that the grandparents should have their picture taken with my bf's family. Since my bf and I are only dating, I decided to stay seated while they were all getting situated for their picture (I'm not in the family yet, lol!). My bf's stepmother and his SIL thought I should be included. I protested, but they insisted (as did my bf). We took a few pictures and afterwards, not to my surprise, Aunt P looked at my bf and said "Oh, [bf's name], you didn't tell me y'all were engaged! Have you set a date yet?" loud enough for the entire family to hear. She knew perfectly well that we aren't engaged and simply wanted to show her disapproval of me being in the family picture. This may have been bad on my part, but I shot her my infamous “look” (as my mother calls it), held up my left hand, and said “Do you see something I don’t?!?”. She didn’t say anything else.

Looking back, I probably could’ve handled this better. What would you have done?

my husband for financial help after all these years of no communication. The father has missed all of his grandchild's milestones and all of our family's milestones.

I'm really torn about this because as the Bible tells us to honor our father and mother, but a large part of me feels they should honor their children, too. The father's choice to cut himself out of my husband's (and our family's) life has really put us in a bad place now when he needs help. Incidentally, the JW siblings have chosen to follow their father's lead, but they're not coming through with the cash.

Christians, help me see this as Christ would, please.
