no, but burying people in indestructible caskets and vaults so that the space will not be available for further burials is vain and a waste. Simple burial is a very reasonable way to dispose of corpses.

You'll be dead soon enough anyways so what do you care. Life is too short to worry about space thats at a vast amount at this point.

I can see how liberal nonbelievers would see it that way, but it is a direct commandment from God, so I'm sure there's a good reason for it.

i think so. it is cheaper,more efficient, and more enviornmentally freindly to be cremated. people have already taken away enough space from nature now we are destroying more. I would never get burried. gross.
