..then they die in the next few minutes without committing a sin are they automatically pass-ported into the heaven that their new faith decrees?
Or are such conversions worthless?
Lets assume that the new faith (whichever one it is) is a genuine bona fide deal

I was kind of thinking about the Roman Emperor Constantine here.. y'know the one tied Christianity to the State and made it so poerful influential and widespread? Its just.. well he started of killing Christians, throwing them to the lions and all. Then he murdered a few family members son, wife (as was the wont back then). Then on his death-bed, while he is still Emperor of course he is converted. You think we'll meet him in Heaven?

Sorry, mental image that is just hilarious. Baptism means nothing if you aren't sincere. Anyone can get dunked in water.
And no I am not christian.

I agree with the above answer. Most baptisms are done as a baby and these children are inducted into a faith without knowing the consequenses. I'm all for waiting till the person is old enough to make up their own minds and it being made illegal to influence them in any way. Freedom for all!

Salvation is a personal choice. Not a forced thing.

It's not a conversion if the person it's happening to doesn't believe in it, or if they are unconscious and wouldn't believe in it if they were given the option of declining. It's just going through the motions, and would be invalid.

You're confused as to how one is saved. Baptism has NOTHING to do with salvation. Salvation is from grace alone. God will judge how genuine the heart of the person is, and whether that person chose in his/her heart to reject Jesus or not. If you reject Jesus, then Jesus cannot clean your heart, and therefore you die with all your filthy sins still in your heart. You cannot choose to spend your life rejecting God's planfor your salvation, and then expect a free pass into heaven anyway, just because someone poured water on your head. Don't be ridiculous.

It has to be free will. The baptism is into Christ.

Baptism does not save a person, so there was no conversion.
Just a dead, wet body

i think that God will read what's in their hearts before he decides whether or not they are true worshipers of him. Being baptized means nothing if you haven't made the decision to commit the rest of your life to God and worship him whole-soled. So just because people get baptized doesn't mean a free ticket to heaven. Being baptized has its responsibilites and you have to be in the right mind set and have the right heart.
