Im looking to visit Japan in the next year and would really like to learn the language and some key phrases so that I dont seem rude and lazy, expecting everyone to speak English. What is the best way to go about this? Books? On the internet? Where is the best resource for me to learn this ancient language. Many thanks, Dave

Is Ethnic identity twin skin to linguistic identity- are we really our language...?!?
What does language represent about us within our differing cultures...?!? who would want to try to fix another persons foreign tongue, & why...?!?

I've seen it used when referring to food.
i.e. "great apres-run meal"
"prepare the apres-run refreshments"
I've got a little bit of an idea of what it means, but what *exactly* does it mean? It's kinda driving me nuts that I can't seem to find an exact definition of this term anywhere. HELP! (I know, I'm a bit of a drama queen :P)

What websites can I go to? I'm not talking about LEARN FRENCH IN YOUR CAR. I mean I want to teach myself French, Farsi, Italian, German, Japanese, & Sign Language, using the textbooks that colleges use. Do you know of any sites other than amazon.com, half.com, campus-i.com?

Клип делала очень давно. Песня на узбекском языке. Красивая и грустная. Клип, собственно, тоже не особо веселый.
