Ser is -to be
Estar is for-should be or must be
I will help you on this.
First you want to know It is "month". Ok here are first the months in both languages:
Oh, the months and days in Spanish are in small case letters unless it starts a sentence.
January-enero February-febrero
March-marzo April-abril
May-mayo June-junio
July-julio August-agosto
September-septiembre October-octubre
November-noviembre
December-diciembre
Now for your translation:
Es el mes de septiembre.
It is the month of September.

Debe ser el mes de septiembre.
Must be the month of September.(Here you specify the month that an event or appointment must take place)

Este de ser el mes de septiembre.
This must be the month of September.
(You say it this way is in case you or someone forgot the month that is present)

Es en el mes de noviembre.
It is in the month of November. (This one is said when you are telling someone that the event will be officialy in the month specified).

Now for ser =to be
It is used in many ways.
Debe ser____. It must be_____.
Me gustaria ser____. I would like to be___.

Now for estar-should be
Debo estar atiempo y no tarde.
I must be on time and not late.
Te gustaria estar en casa con mi familia?
Would you like to be in my home with my family?
The past would be:
Estuve en el cine ayer. I was at the movies yesterda.
El estaba con su familia anoche. He was with his family last night.
The future should be:
Estare en la escuela el martes. I will be in school on Tuesday.
Estaremos en la casa de Betty en diciembre para la fiesta. We will be in Betty's home in December for the party.
I will add the days of the week:
Monday-lunes
Tuesday-martes
Wednesday-miercoles (accent on the first e)
Thursday-jueves
Friday-viernes
Saturday-sabado(accent on the first a)
Sunday-domingo
