Sure you can! I had a great Spanish instructor who is a native Puerto Rican. She spent a lot of time demonstrating to us how to roll our rr's. I also had a French instructor, and a German instructor who both spent time giving us demonstrations on how the French and the Germans rolled their rr's. Some of it was gutteral ... but some was a lot like the Spanish rr's, and that helped a lot. One thing that a High School French teacher told us stood out in my mind, and I'll always remember it; she said that during Foreign Language Week, when her students flew to France for an immersion program, they learned French fluently. In fact, she said, they learned more French in that one week in France then they could've learned during the entire school year in her class. I always referenced back to that when learning other languages. I've also had college instructors from other countries who tell us about coming to the U.S. with thick accents, and after some time here not having that much of an accent. One instructor told us about standing in front of a TV set everyday when she was young and repeating English words from the Foreign Language channel until she was pronouncing English perfectly. It's something for you to think about every single time you make a mistake with your rr's ... nothing's impossible. You might just need to spend more time with the language and - if at all possible - among Spanish-speaking people. If you do that, don't stress, relax ... from what I've been told - AND from what I've seen first-hand - Spanish-speaking people will do their best to help you when they realize that you're trying to learn the language. They love their language, and they'll be more than happy to teach you how to roll the rr's. NOTE: My instructor tells me that rolling rr's is the first thing her people teach their kids. If they can't roll their rr's, it's considered a tragedy.
I don't know if you know any Spanish-speaking people ... but a good place to start is either at a college coffee house where people meet to chat in other languages, or through an immersion program at a University.
Good luck, God bless!!!

If you are indeed gurgling, no, you're not doing it right. The throat does nothing but produce sound for RR; the tongue does the trilling.
True story: Every year of my 4 in Spanish classes in high school, they spent a week at the beginning of the year working on our pronunciation, and then forgot about it. Nothing they said or did helped me with rr.
But walking down a path my freshman year at college, and imitating RRita Moreno singing "I like to be in Ame-RRi-ca," from West Side Story, I finally got it!

no gurgling is not a spanish R. just keep listenign to native speakers, especially spaniards, because they do the most marked R's and the easiest to learn from. and practice practice practice. the gurgling soudn though - that can be used for a french R. keep that in mind if you want to leran french lol

Possibly, but it helps if you are younger.
Up to the age of twelve, a child is in their prime for acquiring new vocabulary and accents.
I never learned the spanish language until I was older, but I picked up the accent from hearing it when I was a kid. I did have a bit of trouble rolling my r's, but I did learn to do this after I became an adult. So hopefully you can do so as well.
