What does "fall far short of" mean?
I am an English newbie so please explain to me in simple English.

It means that you missed by quite a few points if you were graded on a paper.
Example: 50 instead of 70 as a grade.

A person can also fall short of manners, thus, making him one without manners. I hope I am making myself clear.

Simply, the person has not achieved the goal that is commonly felt to be an established one.

You do not use your full potential and "fall far short of reaching your full potential."

It means "not enough" "Inadequate" or "did not get close to accomplishing a goal or task" in other words "failure".

It means "fails to meet expectations," as in "His performance fell far short of his potential."
